I bought these tips off a member here and was thinking about this before they came and I received them yesterday and was wondering... Can the exhaust shop take the hangers off the other tips and weld them onto these tips? I see that they are stainless so I am guessing that it is possible. Just looking for some input because I would like to have them installed this weekend hopefuly and don't want to sound stupid on the phone. Thanks for the input!

They are quite a bit shorter than the stockers as well so I am going to have to have them add some pipe in line as well... Should I have them extend the tips out in case I ever put some mufflers on her to get rid of the drone?

That's up to you, brother. Sounds like you have answered your own question, tho.

Don't take the hangers off the oem tips, they will be ruined. Leave them on and you can sell the OEM tips. Any muffler shop worth their salt should have the rod hanger material to make you some hangers.

I was thinking the same thing about the hangers. I was going to ask the shop to do that so that I could sell the tips as a whole unit including hangers. They aren't in the greatest of condition, but I am sure someone on CVN or something will hock them up along with my stock airbox

They look almost identical to stock tips - why take them off? If you don't want drone you need different mufflers

They are shorter than stock so they will have to weld in a piece of pipe to make up the difference and I plan on putting some mufflers on it too so I thought about extending the out a little bit like other members have done to reduce the cabin drone... and yes they are "res delete"

Res delete will be louder - probably more drone.

I want it to be louder and I am well aware of the drone! I have seen on the site that guys extend the tips a little to make the drone a little less worse... Plus I think if they stuck out a little they would look kinda cool! I am not talking sticking way out, just like 1/2" - 3/4" or so...

I had mine extended out about an inch or maybe a bit more. Also had the shop install bolt flanges on both the new tips as well as the OEMs so I can switch back if i want to without cutting and re-welding.

Looking at yours, they look awesome! The only issue I have now that I see it is that these tips are shorter than the stockers, so I don't know how they will look from the side view. I will have to see them up there and may the decision before the welding begins!
That looks awesome! I want to do that... Hope it looks good!

They are shorter, and from certain angles, you can see the transiton point, but IMO, it's not a big deal. Have someone hold them up, eyeball them, and then decide how much extension you want.

I have mine extended out 1.5", I believe the shop measured from the side of the bumper and eyeballed them to be slightly out past the center (furthest part out) of the bumper.
