We are recording tomorrow and need one more song.

What should it be?

Three chords would be great.

Think 50's Rock N' Roll on crack would be the result.

Suggestions?

A couple of my favorite "standards" I like to keep around (not 50's, but just sayin').

Ted Nugent: Great White Buffalo, fantastic guitar pickin.
Webb Wilder: Human Cannonball, great jamming and lyrics.

Long tall sally by little Richard or rave on by Buddy Holly would be cool!

Yeah. We were going to play it to some Rockabilly snobs in a Rock N' Roll style, which isn't far off from the original. ;)

True, can't argue that at all. It was definately one of thier thrash songs.

Try Del Shannon's "Runaway". Awesome car cruise song, awesome 50's style. WIN.

"(My Gal Is) Red Hot" or "Red Hot" or whatever you want to call it, there's a few versions out there and I'm sure you know the song.

"The Crusher" by the Novas.

"The Girl Can Help It" by Little Richard.

Oh who am I kidding, you're going to do plan C anyway, and not any of the songs mentioned here!!!

If you're just playing three chords, anything by AC/DC would fit that bill. If you like the AC/DC idea, try playing Ride On from their Dirty Deeds album. It's got a really cool blues feel to it.

I love ac/dc, and don't murder the classics, but I would like to hear how you do a cover of this.

Well if you're thinking of doing a rock song in 50's style, I say do Rock and Roll High School.

LOL! I heard that the other day.

We actually recorded Johnny B. Goode.

Adam, I agree with you, but I never heard a version like this one... it's stupid fast, I know you'll love it.

Wait till you guys hear this.

Maybe I can finish it by KY!

Ah well.

Glad you didn't do "Rocker", at any rate. Sorry, that song is just close to perfect, and as good as you might be, nobody in your band is as good as Bon Scott. I just don't think anyone will ever do that song better than the original.

Motorhead350

Yup, I agree. I love that version of that song and doing AC/DC in my band just doesn't fit... at least for a studio recording. We toyed around with a Rockabilly version of My Best Friends Girl before, but I was never happy with the way we put it together. We covered Rumble before, but never released it because it sounded too much like the original.

Adam, you coming to KY or what?

I thought you were planning on doing STAP this year, but I don't yet see your name on the list.
