Are you satisfied with the build quality and dealer service with your Marauder?
Now that Mercury Marauders are 6-7-8 years old, are you pleased with the quality of your Marauder and the service you receive from your dealer?
You can either use the poll or/and write your own experiences good or bad.

Other than the OEM tire's waring faster than I would have liked, the leak on the rear end cover and 1 door window switch that stoped lighting up the car has never done me wrong.
My dealership is the best and went out of their way to make sure I got the car and has always given me a new Loaner to use when I give it to them to service and always has it back to me in a day.

Overall the MM has been good. Starting to show it's age with squeaks and rattles now. Going to have to track them down to fix. Having fun now with mods and such as it is no longer a DD. Only wish there were more aftermarket goodies I could get. Sometimes I envy the Mustang crowd because they have so many choices available to them.

I second the Mustang thing vs our cars and how much more it is for us to get and do something due to lack of interest.
By far the best vehicle I have ever owned. DD for only one year for 30k mile but never ever gave me any issues other than the rear oem tires wearing in the middle and all the attention from girls, police, car thieves and every other guy that's into cars. My dealer was great. Never needed service from them since I do all my PM stuff myself and I bought the extended warranty that I don't think I'll need; "knock on wood".

Being a 3rd owner, I realize that some of the stuff about my car is dependent on the care it received prior to my owning it. However, I feel that the previous two owners did a great job on keeping up with the car.
The only thing that I am a little bummed about is the bad paint. But the car drives amazing and still turns heads, and everything works on it. I can't complain.

LCM problems, Radio problems, soft axles, adjustable pedals that don't adjust, Wacky wiper syndrome, brand new and some shooting the blues,
heater problems, shifter problems, alignment problems untill "carfixer" figured it out,bad paint, and the list goes on... really a high quality car???? go figure. The only reason I like mine is because its "Trilogized",it looks tougher than s**t, and has 4 doors. Its like having your cake and eating it too. I voted NO!!! Flame away. I'm tellin ya how I sees it!! FWIW.

I've been yearning to own Marauders since the day they were available; just didn't think I could afford them nor wanted to finance a high valued daily driver. At the time, I was an outside advertising sales rep for local media and racked up 20K miles a year on roads riddled with holes. Now, I spend most of my driving time on Florida's highways as does my wife.
The cars are never serviced by our local stealers ... performance enhancements by Dennis Reinhart in Orange Park, FL and regular maintenance by Advanced Automotive in Port Orange, FL. I met both Jimmy and Charlie before they opened their own shop almost a decade ago when they were at our local Blue Oval certified Ford stealer.

I wish the aftermarket parts were as good as Ford quality. This car has done great and converted me over from a Chevy guy.

Choices given:
Yes. The Marauder exceeds my expectations and is a high quality car.
No. The Marauder does not exceed my expectations and is not a high quality car.
How about a third choice?
Neither. The Marauder meets my expectations for an American-made sedan.

I had a dream I had a second one. Also black... cool!
Look, I love my Marauder and it'll stay with my through thick and thin, kinda like Conan O'Brian's Taurus, but I must say that build quality is only so so.
All the big things, like the engine, body, and glass is great but its the little things that kinda get to me when I sit and ride for a long time in her. First off the most recent and most jarring thing that has happened so far is that my radio has died. From what I have been able to glean from the search function is that there was a bad solder joint on the Frequency locking circuit or something like that.
Second is how the car won't fully shift into reverse unless I push forward on it till I hear the engaging sound. Now this may have been something Ford put in for the more senior users for so they don't slip into reverse by accident, and its easily fixed by the tightening of a wire but still.
Then there's the up light on the window toggle on armrest that went out a little while after I got the car. Again, a bad solder joint from the factory, one of these days I'll pull it out and solder it myself but it should have been right from the get go.
The paint is also just ok, its got the start of some of the clear fading out on the roof, and its not as smooth and even as the paint of some of my friends cars.
In the end my paint isn't blistering, my wipers aren't going haywire, and the LCM seems to be fine and holding, but its the little things. And on my most recent road trip I seem to have found an odd rattle coming from near the driver side C Pillar.
But what people today have to remember is that majority of the parts are made by the lowest bidder.
All in all though I'd say that the Marauder MEETS my expectations for what I was looking for. A fast, domestic, unique, head turning car that can be adapted to meet life challenges as I face them, from College student, to wandering traveler, to family man, to old codger with an M1 Garand telling some punk kids to get off my lawn.
LCM problems, Radio problems, soft axles, adjustable pedals that don't adjust, Wacky wiper syndrome, brand new and some shooting the blues,

bought mine in '05 with about 9k on the clock, now sitting at 125K and loved every mile, my only gripe is the tire wear and the LCM problems (thanks for the fix fastblackmerc). I love the car to death, i tell everyone i'm gonna ride until the wheels fall off...literally...then i'll bolt them back on and ride some more! ::WOOT::

As you can tell from the OASIS report, the build quality isn't too good.
Dealer service is hit-or-miss.
However, Jack Deemer Lincoln-Mercury gave me the best service I had ever received during ownership of my MM.
Even though this car has it's faults it still is the best car I had ever owned. However, I voted no on the poll.

I have had about the same issues with the MMs as I had with the CV/GMs I owned prior. So, build quality is as I expected. Engine, trans, drivetrain have been solid performers. Power windows, A/C, wacky wipers, wacky LCMs etc are annoying but don't make us love Marauders any less. I have perverted yet another wife into a V8 only driver. Long Live The Mighty V8 !!!

I'm very satsfied with the mm, and very dissatisfied with dealership work ethics. I bought new tires and had the dealer mount and balance them. I asked if they would remove the old adhesive from the stickon weights, I would tip them for doing so, they never did. They scratched my rim. And worst of all when they came to get in my mm they had on latex gloves on with grease all over them, although they did use a red shop rag to grab the steering wheel, but they did not put a plastic sleeve over the leather seats. I thought the sleeve was common at dealerships. I was furious and spoke to the owner, he said his guys did not scratch the rim and they do not use plastic sleeves over the seats and he did use a rag to drive it. He blamed the scratch on the last tire shop who installed them. Funny thing is that they were still original tires from 2003. Never go to Lakeland Jenkins mercury dealership.

Ive had mine for almost 5 years and i've had some issues but nothing major. I go to Margate Lincoln Mercury for service and they are by far the best dealer I've experienced ever as far as customer service and quality of work. In fact I've only had one service advisor the entire time I've owned the car which is pretty amazing too.

I absolutely love my Marauder!
I have had nearly every problem you can think of with it except major systems.
Axles-twice
Alignment-resulting in replacing front tires too early
5th set of rear tires in 82,000 miles (Ok..not all of that is the tires fault)
Leaking headlights
Dead Radio
Non working windows...three out of the four at various times
PCM had to be replaced (rendering my chip useless 'cause the new one was different code)
Insane multi control switch-wipers coming on by themselves
The paint is absolutely awful
Dead Radio...again
Non working windows...again after repair
I am sure there is some stuff I am forgetting, but inspite of all that...I love this car!
It is a kick to drive. It really woke up with the Stage two mods. It is a big, sleek, fast, awesome cruiser, and I love it!

I've had the car ('03 300B SB)for about 3.5 years now and put over 50K miles on it (sitting on about 96K) and I've been, for the most part, happy with the quality. I've had some minor issues--the lights on the seat heater button don't work most of the time and flicker when they do, the lights on the front window switches no longer work, had to replace the blower fan speed control module, front passenger window is getting scarily slow, center console storage bin cracking around the edges, and the usual wonky alignment. Plus the little things like less than top-quality leather (though I should condition it more often than I do), the squeaks and rattles that a nearly 100K mile car will inevitably have (though I feel it has more than its share, even for a domestic), and an odd chirpy squeak from the hood over bumps that will not go away.
But really those are minor quibbles--engine/trans/drivetrain have been rock solid, other than a thermostat that was replaced under extended warranty. No paint problems (other than some factory imperfections), no leaks, clearcoat in great shape, no issues with the lights, wipers, or radio, rims still look great. Knock on wood! All in all I say good job Ford--maybe mine was just built on a good day though. Dealership was okay, didn't wow me but didn't piss me off--but they got downsized. Since it's out of warranty anyway, independent mechanics or doing the work myself are the order of the day now.

I have totally hated most Ford service sessions. Although Ford has force-fed a bunch of trainng on SVT, the best of many of their advisors and mechanics know very little about Marauders and the aftermarket. Why dont people that work at a dealership "Love" or even "Like" cars? The paint is terrible! For a $30K car that is unacceptable. I must say that it IS VERY dependable and I love it!

There's no option for "medium" - build quality could be a lot better but doesn't ruin the car for me
Yep, really like mine, only one little problem that seemed to resolve itself.
Try to do the PM myself with money being tight these days
