Dynamat ... have it in my '94 F-350, my dad's '96 Bronco, and had it my '95 Bronco. It's like driving the living room couch around town.

Just bought the one foot by one foot sheets to go behind the speakers in the front doors and rear sidewalls. Was enough to move the sound forward into the cabin instead of escaping out through behind.

Get Fatmat. Comparable to Dynomat and cheaper.

I know a guy who did a killer stereo upgrade on his Titan. He put the Dynamat everywhere except the roof (total gutting of the interior). His truck is super quiet now and the ultimate test was classical music at speed and it sounds great. Well worth it if your doing an expensive sound system. PM Pops he should know the skinny on this stuff.

Actually it's not, but if you like that tar smell I suppose who am I to argue;)

Yeah, one big benefit of Dynamat Xtreme in particular is that it is completely odorless. Tar-based materials will put out quite an odor, for days after install and then sometimes when exterior temps are high long after the fact.

Maybe Defyant will chime in. He has much experience on the subject.

FatMat has no odor either.

I made the assumption that what you got from Home Depot was Ice and Water shield which is similar in appearance and has a self adhesive backing. Perhaps Texas has different roofing products than NJ

Dave if you are going to sound proof your car do everything from the doors floor wheel wells deck lid & behind the rear seat. I used Dynamat bought from ebay.

Dave whatever you put down, I recommend removing the whole interior and clean the floor surface before putting anything down and best tip of all wait until a hot day where you can lay the dynamat or whatever you get out to soften off and get yourself a little hard rubber roller 1-1.5" wide. Softer it is the easier it is to apply and will stick better.

I've even gone as cheap as spraying undercoating and then laying down the same material the hood insulator is made out of, works great just to get rid of road noise.

Yes!
IIRC: That is the same stuff that O's Fan Rich used and he highly recommended it.

I'll go with Dynamat cause I know it works but also more so because I know the Dynamat rep for MD and I get it about 10% below cost from him. Known him since my days working at Tweeter.

Bawazir, whatever you end up going with as I told Dave gut the whole interior and lay it down. That is the only for sure way to really sound deaden the car. Also applying it to the roof really isn't going to help cool it, it's not what the product is designed to do.

You can do with whatever you like, Dynamat is costly unless you get a deal on it. If that's what you choose to do then I would go with Dynamat Xtreme.

The best deal on sound deadening right now is FatMat 100 sq. ft. bulk pack that "fastblackmerc" listed http://stores.ebay.com/Noise-Killers-Sound-Control_100-Sq-Ft_W0QQ_fsubZ884541010QQ_sidZ5 46766740QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2 em322

$129.99 with free shipping and a roller.
