Odd Part Needed

This has got to be a first...

I had my windshield replaced last year and now I notice it seems like a part is missing where the rear view mirror attaches to the glass. Seems a small piece should fit on the underside of the mirror, like a plug of sorts. I get a slight vibration in the mirror now, that wasn't there before. Mirror is properly seated on the mount.

Mine just looks kinda, 'unfinished' How does yours look? anyone have this little piece, or know if I can get it. If you even know what the heck I am talking about.

I feel like such a noob with this question/concern.

There is a special tool needed to remove it.

When they replaced my windshield they did not clip it on all the way so they came back out removed it then put it on properly to stop the vibration.

Yeah, that was done and re-done, it is definitely fully engaged. Is the bottom open, or sealed up with a little plug or something? I don't remember mine looking quite like it does now.

I cleaned my windshield in and out the other day and noticed it looked 'different'

But I remember it sitting flush for the most part and only had 2 small openings for the tool to slip in and take it off.

Never ever noticed any thing else and I know there is no set screw like the old day's
