The only accepted answer is, "Another Marauder!"

That's what we're doing.

Trading in the Black '03 for a Red '04.
Story is that I have a 1996 Supercharged 350hp Thunderbird that I absolutely love. The only car that I'd trade up for was the Marauder. Wife wouldn't let me keep both; she's a smart woman. So I put the Tbird up for sale after taking delivery of the MM. Lucky for me, in a weird sort of way, she totaled her Mazda-- American built I might add--before I sold the Tbird. As a result, I got to keep both cars but she did not want to drive the "ThunderBeast." Compromised and we have joint custody as she drives the MM M-F and I get it on the weekends. She's partial to Red and just plain does not like Black or White or Grey cars. I usually trade every couple of years but there may not be a '05 Red MM. Plan is that if I get her a Red MM she'll keep it forever because she doesn't like me to trade her cars in every couple of years. Had to go 350 miles from Memphis to find a red one. It's in Shreveport, La. and he had two DTRs on the lot. Manager told me that he just sold a Black one a few days ago. I have family there so they're going to go check it out for me. I'll pick it up next Thursday when our vacations starts. If your looking for a used '03 that's in great condition. Check with Harter L/M next week http://www.harterautogroup.com

2003Marauder,

Congratulations !!!
Your wife has made an excellent color choice for you !
Did she choose Light Flint or Dark Charcoal interior ?
I've had a Red '04 with Light Flint since 10/20/03.
Wanted one since 06/01/02, but Black is not my color.
DTR is an eye-catcher...be prepared to be oggled !

I guess you will have to supercharge the MM. One for one.

Interior is the Light Flint Nudo Leather.
We've never seen the DTR. None of the FOUR L/M dealers had that color even though it's available on the GM. Two salesmangers told me that the MM did not come in Red. No wonder they don't sell many here in Memphis. Had to find a 1999 used GM to see the color but I don't think it was CC Metalic.

Yes, I need another MM.net name. Maybe 03&04Marauder.
or maybe BAR-Marauder. For Black & Red. or BARM

Any suggestions on a name for a dual year owner?

No Supercharger on the MM. Limit is one per family.

Now if/when I ever get out of the Tbird then the supercharger is a possibility; but, really, 302 hp is plenty for me. And the MM is for road trips instead of flying.

300hp is all I wanted on the Tbird, stock is 205hp, since the Mark VIII has about 280 but I ended up with 350hp. Problem is that I let "little people" drive my cars, by little I mean people who have"little horsepower" and "little rear-end gears" and when they get a chance to drive a car with a high to HP to Weight ratio, they don't know how to handle it. Even my son-in-law who sold used cars and drove about everything there is on the road was surprised after I put the supercharger on the Tbird when he stepped on the gas he almost lost control. "The Tbird is scary!" was his reply. After I put the Firestone Firehawks 255/50s on the Tbird it doesn't break out like it did with the POS Goodyear HPs that I had. He takes the Tbird and MM to work on occasion just to give the little people a ride at lunch time and he takes the MM when they go out with other couples. In return I borrow his Pickup Truck. Anyway, MM engine will probably remain stock. For right now the only mod that the wife will allow is a Bob White reflective chrome rear bumper insert and take off the front grill badge.

2003 marauder

I'm spending the weekend in Memphis on business. If I get some free time (one never knows when doing a technology upgrade), any car shows going on that I might want to see?

Love those 94-97 TBirds. My 94 is black/tan inside, sun roof, factory spoiler, 3:27 rear, and 16" TSW wheels. Motor's stock. One of Ford's best dashboard designs, in my opinion, and worst transmissions.

I'll be working out around the West Massey Rd area.

Hello jerrym3,

I'm on vacation starting Thursday. Will be out of town as you know picking up my Newest MM. Nothing of note going on in Memphis. Next time your in Memphis let me know.
Saw you have several Tbirds. As a '94 Tbird owner, you understand the real beauty of that car. The MN12 style received Motor Trend Car of the year for two years in a row. Wonder how many other cars have that distinction. I'm already trading in the 2003 for a 2004. The MM is an excellent car but I just don't have that personal attachment that I have developed with my '96 once I had the Supercharger put on it. I've owned more than 30 vehicles and never felt any attachment to them like the Tbird.

Congrats on your new 2004. The 2004's are supposed to be significantly faster than the '03's due to transmiddion improvements among other things. If they were making blue ones in '04, I would be seriously considering trading mine in and taking the financial "bath".

I also had a '94 T-Bird. I loved that car. Sold her to my father in-law so I still get to visit it from time to time.

Good trade to the '04 DTR, by the way.
