View Full Version : Well guys, I finally got my Marauder

I picked up my brand new dark blue pearl Marauder last week. I originally had my heart set on a black 2004, but was shocked when I actually found a new blue one on a local dealers lot. This is the first blue one I have seen in person, and liked the color much better than expected. I am also not typically a big fan of spoilers, but I thought that this one looked good. I drove both the 2003 and 2004 and I could barely feel the difference in performance. So I went with the blue for its rarity and the money I saved can go towards mods. I got the car for $25,500 including the spoiler.
So far the dealer has been great and so has the car. The only problem is that the subwoofer rattles like crazy, but I know there is a fix for that. I have not really driven it that hard yet, but it feels decently quick for a 2 ton automobile. I love the interior and the car gets plenty of looks on the road. This is sure one hell of a winter beater.

I'll have to take some better pics if it ever stops raining here. And sorry the pic is so huge, I just realized I don't have Photoshop.

Mine is a summer beater. With the right mods it can be faster than your Vette. Enjoy.

Congrats from one new Blue to another. My woofer is acting up as well. The folks on the site have been real helpful. I thought
I would tackle the fix this week end but ran out of time. I've turned down the bass to about the middle setting and it doesn't rattle so much. Its raining here this week end too! Kind of slows things down for checking out the new Blue.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Nice choice. Hope you enjoy yourself and all the new found attention. And folks are right...with the right mods, you will be amazed how quick this large luxury beast will become. Rock-On :burnout:

Thanks guys.
I know the car has plenty of potential, but I do not intend to try to make it as fast as my vette. By next summer the vette will be in the 11s, I would be satisfied if the Marauder was in the mid 14s. I will probably do the stage 1 mods in the spring and I would consider a supercharger for it a couple of years down the road.
And you are right, my reverse lights are clear. Hmmm.

It does look like the reverse lights are not tinted. We have a member here in Detroit that has a MM and his taillights are not tinted. Came from the Manufactor like that.

Congradulations on the purchase of your Marauder! Deep Pearl Blue is a really neat color and would have been the color I would have chosen, except that I wanted an 04 that Ford decided to axe that color.

Unless you really like them, have the dealer change out the rear panel with the back up lights for one that has tinted lights.
some one at the factory used a Crown Victoria panel for that car

ADE 1900,
I like youur choice in cars. If you look at my sig, you will see my `other' Blue baby -- it's a 2000 Nassau Blue Coupe! My wife LOVES blue! What can I say.
Congrats. You won't regret it. Now you need WINTER tires for the MM unless you have 2 gagare queens!

Wow, this must really be a small world! It's definately nice to meet up with you again, and it's amazing how we have the same taste in cars. I sent you a reply..............
I believe there are also a couple other former v8sho owners who now have Mercury Marauders, but I havn't visited the v8sho forums in a very long time so i'm really not sure.

Thanks again guys, especially for pointing out that my backup lights are not tinted. I never noticed it, but now that I know it bothers the hell out of me. I've got a call into the dealer to get it fixed.
Gordon,
Its good to see another C5 owner on the board. I was pondering winter tires, but I am going to see if I can get by without them. I just can't stand the thought of driving the Marauder for 4 months with ugly steel rims. We typically only get a couple of days of serious snow here in Chicago anyway.
