not sure, its only around 1000 bucks but when my dad did my taxes, it was only like 400 something. prolly just pay bills and be responsible with it. i know, boring!

:banana2: Same thing happened to me. Turns out, when I bought the Vic alst year, I was eligible to a tax credit on the purchase. I knew this, but thought I was only eligible if I itemized, which it was more beneficial for me to take the standard deduction. Turns out, even taking the standard deduction, I was still eligible for the credit, so the IRS corrected the mistake and sent me an extra couple hundred bucks. I'll be damned if I know where I spent it though:confused:

Obviously, you folks aren't paying enough in taxes if you are getting refunds. ;) Or you are giving Uncle Sam an interest free loan. :P Enjoy it while you can .... pretty soon those refunds will be going to help pay for Obamacare.

Charlie, I get a significant amount of money back from my state and federal refund. Years ago, I would narrow my withholding so it would be almost even at the end of the year. Now, I look at it as a savings plan. I get the refunds deposited directly into an account which is set aside for emergency cash and/or college fund. When you pay almost 50K in taxes, it is a good feeling to "take" 20% of it back.

+1!

Forced saving. I really don't care if the government gets an interest free loan. As long as I don't have to pay anything come April 15th I'm good.

I wait 'til the bitter end as I will have to pay. I'm retired and no money is taken out but that's ok with me as it's not that much anyway. You'll notice I didn't say anyways.

Well what the heck are you waiting for? You need to hit them milestone posts of 1,000, 2,000, etc. etc. At 5,000 you get a George Foreman grill. And a Hot Kentucky Brown from Haggis.
