As you guys know I have what I belive is a valve isssue. The heads are coming off and I have to decide to rebuild or buy new heads. I was looking at prices from modularheadshop.com. $600 to rebuild head and another 300 if I want them to install the cams and lash adjusters. New heads from tousley are 1100 a pice and I dont know if hey come with cams. Which way should I go?

Replace the entire engine with a good one from a wrecked car? Then part out and/or sell your old engine, letting the buyer know the heads need rebuilt.

if the shop has a good feedback , would rebuild them. then again its all in how much you want to spend.

this would prolly make most sense if you plan on keeping the car. find a cobra long block, or short block and add a set of good heads

Once you open up the engine, the whole project will snowball.

600 for both heads to be rebuilt not per head. I dont have 5 grand or 4 grand for a motor. I also dont want to put a cobra motor in. I would most likley get an aluminator motor but I dont have the money.

600 for both isnt too bad really. plus you got head gaskets and head bolts

if you do it all yourself you might be able to do it for 1500 ish?

Thats what im thinking Dave another couple of hundred for gaskets and bolts, maby a grand into the heads worst case. Brian is right though things start to snowball. While I have the timing cover off might as well do the timining chains and tensioners, also the front main seal etc.

And then pan gaskets, and the oil pump, etc, etc.
I've seen complete known good engines from wrecked Marauders and Mach1's go for less than you would have invested in this partial rebuild...

I agree but then I dnot see these motors that often, then theres shipping and next thing you now your two grand in. If you find a good motor for 1500 let me know, it may be a viable option.
