Sheriff's Office investigating remains found in forest preserve

DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. - The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is investigating human remains found in a forest preserve Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff's officials say the remains were found at the Herrick Lake Forest Preserve off of Butterfield Road in unincorporated Wheaton.

The remains were discovered by a person walking though the forest preserve.

Information about the identity and condition of the remains is unknown.
