Folks, i LOVE my marauder, and do not seeing myself to sell my marauder at anytime in the near future.

And when looking at the current catalog of new cars on the road, i find NOTHING that i would willingly replace my marauder with. and with over 100K miles on my marauder, i will continue to fix it.... till dooms day.

so...... lets think proactively.

What do ya think.... and this is really kinda... OUT THERE....

We mail letters to congress.... and to other things like this.. we voice our opinion.

What do ya think.... if we could contact FORD corporate.. (hopefully someone has an internal source) and send a email pertaining to arelease of a new generation Marauder.

To build the "need" that a full-size performance sedan is wanted on the ford lineup. (i understand the SHO... it does indeed look good, but not nearly as good as a marauder)

i have emailed customer relations in the past. in 2008 i sent an email to incorporate the europe ford style into the american market, that this would drive up sales (and help my stock) the american vehicles were far to bland, compared to the European models, with the same badge. (not all)

AND THATS WHAT THEY DID WITH THE 2011 FOCUS, and Transit Connect.
it only took a few years, but maybe... just maybe my email was read.. or others, like myself sent the same type of email. and built that "NEED" that the people want _____ . And we should do _______.
When the vehicles were made, their was never a leftover vehicle.. (in my area) so the vehicle is definitely not a hard sell for ford. usually, they were sold before they reached the dealership.

now im sure. this has been attempted, but persistance is important.

Limited edition, just like before..... throw the new mustang engine in it...

and hey, if it takes 5 years to do it... it would be about time to replace them.

You know you want to.... lets tell them what we want.

Ford has no interest in that big RWD sedan anymore, it's gone, and I don't want anything they have in mind for the future. The alternative is to get all the spare parts available, stockpile for the future, and replace as needed, or buy all the tooling after 2011, and build your own line, (this would cost more than a Mega-Lottery win, but is my favorite) you can call it anything you want, except Marauder, (or any other copy-write protected name). I personally like the Interceptor, but it also has it's flaws, and will never be built. I'll bet all these ideas have been thrown around many times, since the announcement of the end of the line. Sorry, but I just had to p!ss on this parade, as it is my own, also.

As much as I'd like to see more big RWD cars in our future, ain't gonna happen.

Like trash said above, I'm sorry to be negative here, but he's right. With GM now owned by the President, and Chrysler owned by Fix It Again Tony, all we can expect in future is more poorly designed and badly-built econo-boxes. The American automobile industry will become the bottom-feeders of the automotive world. The only decent RWD sedans will come from BMW and Mercedes.

And that's a shame, since Ford has the Falcon in Australia which would be a great car for many of us RWD Ford fans. Globalization of the product lines is a misnomer, it should be called Europeanization since only the European-influenced designs are going to be around (even the Australian Falcon is going to be a victim).

The last of the V8 Interceptors

Specs sound good but that 3-bar grille concept sucks out loud. Not just this one but the current production cars, too.

Pontiac imported Australian RWD cars and rebadged them and what did that get them??

I guess Chevy will get discontinued too, after they import the new Caprice for police use.

I thought it was ironic that for years the car mags had derided Pontiac for bringing out cars that were over the top with styling gimmicks like body cladding, scoops, spoilers, wings and other crap. When the brought out the GTO, the same folks complained that the GTO was too plain looking.

Best part I think is that theres so many Panther platform cars out there(2V,4V)That for not a whole lot of money can be made into a car that can handle most anything on the street. So they might be the RWD Hot Rods of the future.

Drive the Marauder until the wheels fall off. Then bolt them back on and drive it some more. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it.

BTW I agree everything new sucks!

The days of large cars are pretty much over. Enjoy these days in the sunset. PS: If you wanted a hot large V8 ponycar, ie Mustang, Camaro or Challenger, you had better jump, they will be going away next.

Ford's future in performance sedans will be AWD. I don't see them mating a V-8 to them, so you will have to make due with cranking the boost on the turbo v-6's.

What, a turbo v-6 can't be a muscle car? Can you envision a Grand National with AWD?

I love the MM, but for a daily driver and sporting performance I would love to have a 3700 lb 400 rwhp AWD sedan.

I would love to see them drop a 5.0 into a fleet cv.

We're lucky ford even makes the SHO as a full size, very high performance sedan. If you really like the Marauder that much over anything else out there, buy another used, extremely low mileage MM and then you'll get another 150k miles out of that one.

AMEN!

I can't stand that HUGE chrome 3 bar grille that FORD shoves into every model.
It's as bad as Chevy's (thankfully now defunct) huge Chrome bar through the middle of the headlights styling....:puke:
The grilles only look decent when they are painted the body color like on the Fusion Sport.

It may be possible to, if you did buy the dies and what not to crank MMs again, use the Marauder name. When I worked at the dealership Ford wanted to use the Futura name again, but they couldn't. Do you know why? They didn't copyright it and the PepBoys did on one of their house brand tires.

the marquis and the towncar are still made to this day. for everyone to keep saying blah blah blah ..... it will never happen.... is basically stating your going "belly up" on this idea..

engines are getting more powerful.. and more fuel efficient.

a new 5.0 liter mustang is coming out eah? so the big engine, rear wheel drive is DEFINITELY not out of the picture.

lets tell them what we want... mail the letters... send the emails.... send pictures of you and your cars! or in a companys perspective "YOU AND THE PRODUCT THEY MAKE!"

people dont show affection to toyotas or honda's like we do to our Marauders.. we are a different class of individuals who like the finer things in life.

send the letter. send the email. voice your opinion. if you ask... it JUST may come...

Yes... a marauder is a bolt on from a Marquis... this is VERY CLEAR.

since the marquis is still in production (i dont know how... their website SUCKS..) this goal of replicating the 2003-2004 marauder, is COMPLETELY OBTAINABLE.

but in any light... a "could be" marauder runs down a production line EVERY DAY... but only fitted with a 225 HP lame ass V8 with a "how fast am i going" digital speedometer..... and from fords perspective, when body meets frame.. and all the constants are completed... a separate line could be created, and the MARAUDER IS BORN..... JUST LIKE IN 2003.... i am no ford assembly line engineer.... but... it only makes sense.

bringing back the Lincoln Continental is more difficult. the body is not in production.

but the marauder body. is still in production! and with the new mustang engines coming out....... and ecoboost.... and yada yada yada.... fuel efficiency can meet performance in these electronic times.

You honestly never know if ford will pursue creating the Marauder option... but what you DO know... is if you dont tell ford... the dream we all want, will never come true.

Create a letter.. explaining how much you love your marauder.... sure, you can speak about how much you modified it... and what you WANT the marauder to do.... but if they released a 412 HP 5.0 stock marauder.... ... everyone would FLIP OUT.

but even if they put the 302 HP engine that in a mustang.. gets 31MPG... it could get 27MPG with the weight increase.

SEND IT!!!! i will try and write up a small letter on my lunch break tomorrow. and anyone is free to edit it...

send it in an email.. and then print it out twice... and mail it twice. (want to make sure.. the first one doesn't get thrown out accidentally!

Like Nike says... JUST DO IT!

The worst that could happen is I wasted a few minutes of my life. Why not trow a 5.0 in the final year. I highly doubt it, actually I doubt it now. They would have to redesign this and that to make it fit and work. Up until 1996 I think Panthers had 5.0s anyway. However is usually takes years to get a car together for production. I don't know how long it would take to make the engine work. I don't see Ford investing any time or money into a car that is going outta production in a year though.

Still, it's worth a try. Nothing is impossible.

nothing is impossible, with only a few minutes of your time...

the consumer must influence the manufacturer.
