 I have 131 K on my Marauder and after going through two sets of original equipment B.F. Goodrich I had it. Got myself Goodyear Eagle F1 and have 50 K on them. The fronts have worn beautifully and have plenty of tread yet. But the rears, just like my two prior sets of B.F. Goodrich are wearing down the middle. The further you go from the middle of the tire out to the sidewalls the tread depth is deeper. Normally premature tread wear down the middle suggests the tires are inflated too hard. The manufacturer says 35 psi all the way around. I do 37 for better gas mileage. I don't think this is it since the front tire tread in the middle is the same depth as the rest of the tire. Does anyone know why the center of the rears seem to wear faster than the rest of the tire ? Any cure for this ?

My theory is the rear rims aren't wide enough for the bigger rear tire width

My rear BFG's last about a year. (1500 miles) Of course I drive with both feet on the throttle.

Ya you get some awsome tracktion with soft rubber tires but you can not expect them to last.
Sometimes you have to play with the air pressure to keep an even wear pattern on the rears.
Get some card board or paper and find something to put on the tread of the tire and roll the car over what ever you want to use and see what mark it leaves for the transfer.
Adjust tire pressure till you get a nice even tread patern left on the card board or paper.
About the best advice I can give you to solve that problem. But they still flex and change according to the amount of pressure applied to them and may narrow a bit and put more center rubber to the ground on take offs.

The reason for the premature wear has been discussed many times.....
Basically the BFG's are crap.
There are many other brands out there that wear much better than the BFG's. I'm running Hankooks that hava a wear number of 420. They are wearing like iron and the Marauder still handles good.

I need to replace all 4 tires - again. The front wear the inside shoulder, bad. Each time they are replaced, I get an alignment, and put 38 psi in them to wear more in the center of the tread. Regardless, I only get 20k out of a set of front. I don't drive the car that hard.
Also, the rear have always worn the center as described. I run 26 psi in the rear. Same problem.
There must be some better tires available for this car. This is my second MM and the issue seems to be universal.
What brand, model, size tires are working for you guys?
I need to order some soon.
Thanks

Inner tire wear only on the fronts is an alignment issue. The link below is the specs to have the shop use for the front wheel alignment.

I have 103k on my Marauder, and I just installed the 5th set of tires on her.
The cost of getting these *****ty BFGs is really making me sick.
The last set cost m e over $800 installed and i know what rubber is out there
for that price but we can't get it in our size and it is a real shame.
I am thinking that maybe we should start a class action lawsuit against Ford
for locking us into these stupid rear tire sizes...
I have also looked into truck tires and I still can't find a set to match
front and rear diameters, width and rotation.
The closest I've ever come to is with the Pirelli PZero Nero tires.
The problem is that they cost $$$$$ compared to the BFG
and I don't want to drop that much cash and find out the wear is the same... :(
