Hi Folks,
I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way for one of these but my step son has one sitting in my driveway for sale and it looks pretty cool.
It's a 96 hard top with an unusual red & green kind of blended depends which way the light hits it paint job.
I saw it this morning on my way to work and I've been saying to myself, hey what the heck I don't have a marauder and this looks like it might be fun.
Anybody have any comments on this car?
Dummy that I am some times, I didn't even notice if it was stick or auto.
I'll look closer when I get home.

Hi Frank,
It took him about a year of intermittent effort to get the paint out of ford. They had to come to the car. A real P.I.A. He had to register it before they would sell him the paint.

Just outta curiosity, what does it say on the registration for body color?

The Mystic Cobras are rare. They are making some for 2004, but there will be a limit of 1000, and I think they are all spoken for now.

Hi,
Frank is right Mystic it is. When I run into my step son I will ask him about the color on the registration. It is a good question.
I believe they are all sticks no automatics if I read data correctly on the site Frank suggested.
I think I'll see if I can put my dingy outboard and oars etc. in the trunk. That's pretty much my absolute minimum standard for trunk room.
I almost bought a Fiero awhile back (bought the GM instead) but I couldn't get enough stuff in the trunk to get out to the boat so I let it go. In retrospect I'm sure this was a good decision.

According to a colleague who owns a Mystic colored coupe, he stated that they made 1,992 of them- 1500 coupes, 492 convertibles. I have a wheel in excellent condition for one of those. I also have some dealer info that is buried in my closet somewhere.

hey RoyLPita,
why only one wheel? i was looking for a set of the '96-'97 cobra wheels about 2 mo. ago for my cougar. they arent really worth much and seem to be fairly plentiful.
coral springs eh? ever go to tower shops on fridays?

Frank,
Haven't been to Tower shops yet. I got the wheel from a friend at work one day in '96 and used it as a full size spare a few times. It is in excellent condition.

Hey Roy,
I haven't hooked up with Vinny (step son) yet but if I do wind up buying the car & putting plates on it for the winter I'd probably want a spare set of rims for snows even if I "Never Plan" on driveing it in the snow.
Anyway I'm sure I would wind up selling it eventually as I really do like the room and ride of a bigger car. Yet having a Mustang again could be fun for awhile.
Some cursory observations on other websites:
It is interesting just cruising some of the Mustang Sites (sort of like this).
There are so many more types and styles of stangs that everything seems much more diluted.
Since there is so much variation and they (Mustangs) are so much more universally popular it seems (again on 1st look) that the relationships folks have developed here are not as common elsewhere.
This might be from everyone here having a fealing of us against the world.
Or at least we are different from the world.
Even Ford isn't going to continue production on the Marauder.
I know I take liberties saying this as I don't even own a Marauder but yet I am infected by it's uniqueness.
