How many people are on their original alternator? Mine is original and just trying to get a feel for how many have been replace and around how many miles did yours go out on you.

I have 100k and she is still ticking

I think I was around 80-85K miles when I replaced mine, the thing was chirping on me when I'd turn the car on for a while and sometimes it wouldn't stop.

Course the shop I took it to I think lied to me and sold me a refurb as "new", cause not but maybe a few thousand miles later the replacement was making those noises again, albeit much less and much less often.

the internal regulator crapped out at 80,xxx, and I had mine rebuilt locally.

Over 50k on The Blackbird and 133,xxx on Phoebe...both original.

110k on my original.

Now, the starter, well, the front bearing went on that at about 105k. Started howling like a banshee about 80% of the time when you would start the car.

Hey bud! Thanks for the starter info as well! I am approaching 105k and will have to see what happens there! Fingers crossed she holds up in both areas (Alternator and Starter)

I have 56,000 and no problems yet.

Factory alternator - 68k and still running good

BD Electrical 250amp alternator - still in box (will be installed shortly)

Still on the original altinator but I have very little milage 40,900

So I don't count LOL!
