Our 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V (5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine Project Car) made 405 RWHP and 375 RWTQ with the addition of an Off-Road X-Pipe, Catback Exhaust System, K&N Drop In Filter, and a Custom Tune! That's a gain of 36 RWHP and 23 RWTQ! That's not bad but we're still working on some other changes in the tune. We're looking to Gain Some More Power through the Ti-VCT, then we will be adding a Cold Air Intake.

Unfortunately, everytime I read about the new 5.0 Mustang that thought crosses my mind.

It reminds me of back in the mid 80s when everyone learned the hard way what a 5 speed 5.0 Mustang could do.
I remember plenty of IROC-Z owners saying: "UH OH....5.0!"

BTW: The dynoed 5.0 had foglights in the grille...the track 5.0 did not.:dunno:They removed them, allowing more air in to the radiator and engine bay. It's going to be purely a track car so no need for them.

MM&FF just got their hands on a new 2011 5.0 Mustang;

Stock car with stock tires: 12.69 @ 112.61 mph
Stock car with sticky tires: 12.34 @ 110.77 mph*

*mph was down with the drag radials because they were smaller diameter than the stock tires
and required an additional shift into 5th gear just before the traps.

low 12s, 412+ HP and 26 mpg....Suck on that Toyota, Honda, Chevy & Chrysler!

No tune/exhaust needed, It basically is a mid-12 second car right off the showroom floor!
MM&FF said that they wished they had practiced more runs on the OEM tires because they were convinced the stock 5.0 w/stock tires is a solid 12.5 car...all day long.
They only ran 2 runs on the stock tires to get the 12.69.

I think the vid confirms that, with sticky tires and those mods alone you're in the high 11's if you don't suck at driving. I want. :D

That is the only downside to the new 5.0.
It won't be very exclusive....heck the Mustang is a victim of its' own success!
They are now more common than red Camaros.

NMRA Super Stang Round #3 Qualifying - 11.65@119MPH at Atco (Saturday May 15th)

We just made 414 RWHP and 385 RWTQ with Our 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V! The Mods are the same as before......(May 19th)

I wonder if they could get this car into the 10's NA, man that would be something.
