These photos are burining up the net -- taken recently when Chevrolet was doing some photo shoots of the new design in San Francisco. You can't see it clearly in these shots, but the C6 will have fixed headlights.

FINALLY they did something about the atrocious back end on the C5! (well, in my opinion anyway, I apologize if I offend anyone who likes the current C5's back end).
Not bad... not bad at all... looks like a C4 slammed into a C3 at the C5 plant. ;) (in other words, I can detect styling cues from those 3 gens, just from those shots).
(Wait! I just spotted the headlights... early C1 all the way!)
Oddly, I don't see anything reminiscent of the C2 Sting Ray. But then again I can't really spot the hood... maybe they'd do a modern rendition of the "bee stinger" hump on the hood of the 396?

I don't think it is slammed. It is just pulled down by the tie-downs on the truck. The lines come to an ubrubt stop at the back. Lines don't flow as well as before. It has center tail pipes and looks like the back-up lights are moved to the lower back facia. Car is shorter than before. I know it probably handles better. Door handles are placed like the Cadillac XLR on which it is based. I have read that the interior gets upgrading too. I hear the base engine is supposed to have 400hp and the upgrades to include 500hp and 650 hp engines. I could get used to it. A serious "GIRL PICKING UP" car.

Archive of all the C6 Spyshots (http://palmeter.com/CorvetteTimelineW11P06.htm) .
Also, here are the original fiberglass shop spyshots of the body:

stupidfastboats.com took down the gallery they had, so I dug up a forum with the pictures.
The front headlights look viper-ish to me.

I was hoping the new styling would suck so I would not be tempted to trade up from my existing Z06. But I think it looks pretty good, and with 500hp planned for the next Z06 it will be very hard to resist.
Time to start saving my pennies.

i'm surprised at 2 things, that chevy was scared enough to go 'viper' with the c6..sharp side lines and what not and that they are calling a slight freshing a new generation..i didn't think they would toss around the term c6 so lightly. then again if it aint broke...

I've read that the C6 run will be relatively short - something like at least 3 years but no more than 5 - then a new, truly revolutionary C7 will be launched.
One thing for sure - the C6 coincides with the Cadillac Roadster, which is being built at Bowling Green and shares a lot of parts with the C6. This is pure speculation on my part, but I think GM limited the C6 in an effort to get the Cadillac off the ground and save money in the process. That said, I admit I like the C6 design, though the jury's still out on the headlights. The spy shots of the headlights leave a nasty, ricer taste in my mouth.
I've always wanted a Corvette, and came very close to buying one several times (didn't for various reasons). Now days I can afford one, but am too fat to be comfortable in one, not to mention being able to gracefully get in and out of.:D

Not about the C6, but some interesting news about the current C5 Z06... Obviously I cannot verify the truthfulness of this report, but interesting nonetheless:
