In a band extending from Woodbridge, VA to Bowie, MD in the next 10-15 minutes. Hail measuring 0.5 to 2.0 inches. We just got hit with the 1/2 inch stuff for about 5 minutes. It is headed toward Waldorf, MD and Bowie, MD.

My MM was sitting outside when this storm came up rather quickly. Thought it was gonna pass north of us .... it didn't. I stood on the porch and watched the ice balls bounce all over it. Don't think there was any damage from the small 1/2 inch stuff but parts of the area are catching 1.5 to 2.0 inch ice. Moving east pretty fast.

Was at diner at Red Robins in Waldorf, when this crap hit. Have received a couple hundred dimples in the Jetta. And as the SuperDuty and the camper live outside now, they too have a couple hundred dimples each. Reminds me of living in Nebraska.

The MM and the Mariner were safe in the garage.

Pro tip... put thick blankets or comforters on your cars if hail is suspected. A quick $20 at the laundry is cheaper than several hundred dents.

Those monster storms missed my neck of the woods completely!
We were driving south from Hunt Valley last evening and watched the awesome lightning storm to the south, down by Annapolis.
My driveway and street were bone dry when we got home.

Were you at TGI Fridays? If so, you may have lucked out and the storm passed just north of where you were over my the mall (probably missed you only by a mile or two).

I saw it coming on the "Weather Underground" and thought that it would pass north of me. We caught the south edge of the storm. That's probably why I got hit with the smaller hail pellets. Had the center of the storm passed over us, I am sure that the bigger ice would have caused some damage.

BTW - I was thinking about the "blanket" solution; but the dime sized hail didn't really do any damage that I can see.

I have a meeting with my claims adjuster on Friday morning. I will see what insurance says and then I will schedule a time and place to take care of my hail damage.

I'm wondering if they will have to repaint the entire car. I kind of hope they do because I have hideous scratches and I would love to get a new paint job. I want to order a rear lip spoiler though, before they do!
