I'm particularly interested in how many Blue MM's were made. It would be good to know how many Black and Silver MM's were made as well. Does anyone have the latest total (final) numbers for 2003?

I did a search and found some Sales and Stock numbers attached in a 6-29-03 post (postid=44634) that showed as of May 31, 2003 it looks like 5044 MM's had been sold and 2123 MM's (stock, in transit and???) were in available to be sold. The numbers were hard to read but if that is correct a total of 7167 were produced up to 5-31-03. I did not see any color break down of the numbers.

At any rate maybe someone has the latest. Thanks

That's the number I have for 1st year "sales," 01 Jun 02 through 31 May 03. Don't know how many were produced, and I've encountered any report with a breakdown by color. Not sure this is monitored by the home office, so, I think the best you ask for, is to call someone in customer relations at STAP and ask them to look up the paint shop schedules?

Thanks Sarge ... that may be the best approach. My selling dealer thought a total of about 15K 03's were made with maybe 2000 Blue ones but wasn't sure and was just guessing. Other than the one he sold me, he has yet to see another Blue MM. I am real curious about the counts (it helps when I'm story telling). So I'll keep digging...and post anything I find out.

Color breakdown was not tracked, 7100 some odd produced is the correct number. It's a forgone conclusion that silver is the rarest of colors, followed closely by blue with the majority of the cars being black.

Wow, sounds like these Marauders are going to be very rare, especially if it's true that production will end at the end of the 04 model year. If about 7100 03's were sold, and about the same number 04's are sold this model year, that will definately put this car as being much more rare than even the 96-99 V8 Taurus SHO's which was a huge disappointment for Ford with 5000 being produced for 96, 14000 for 97, 3000 for 98, and a final production run of about 2000 for 99.

junehhan,

I think the MM would be rare if total production is 25K or less.
It's likely that sales of the '04 will exceed the '03, in my opinion.
My dealer indicated that his inventory is continually at low levels of the DTR color due to unexpected demand.
Many prospective customers tend to postpone purchase until the second year of a new model launch. Usually, problematic issues encountered the first year are corrected the second year.
Also, I think that December '03 factory incentives will result in increased sales activity.
Lastly, since the Feds have recently indicated that the overall U.S. economy is improving, it's likely '04 car sales will improve as well.
On the other hand, my crystal ball may be cracked and I may be totally off the mark on all counts.

From what i'm seeing around this area, your crystal ball appears to be working fine. The dealers around this area are selling 04's as soon as they arrive, if they wern't sold ahead of time. Demand for Marauders appear to be pretty high as my dealer just got in another order request for another Marauder which means they will have have sold at least 3-4 before next year. They said this is odd because they had the worst time trying to sell the 03's they got last year, to find that they can't keep 04's in stock now!

I think that it’s possible that the ‘04’s could easily out number the ‘03’s. No one I know doesn’t like the car. No matter what the age of the person.

Earlier this year and late last year, people would see me with Trilogy’s car w/o super charger at that time and didn’t even know what a Marauder was all about.. But instinctively liked the cars looks totally.

I think the MM didn’t really start to really gather steam and momentum until this past summer. Low marketing seemed to make that car very unrecognized or heard of by most. Which in some ways is very good.

With incentives and interest rates the way they’ve been and hopefully could stay… I think discontinuing the car will cut a lot of people short that would have wanted one in the next couple of years.

I think it’s the perfect car for the 30 something and up, family person that’s got or wants a tough pony type car, and has to some extent… out grown it or its not practical.

Thanks

IMO there will be fewer 2004 models sold. This time last year the local dealers had approximately 25 Marauders in stock. At this time there are only 3. (2004's) Most dealers don't have any in stock. If you don't specifically come in to order a Marauder they won't be sold. :(

Around my way (Philadelphia,Pa.) only a few in stock. However last year I think they were produced in the early run and shipped out.

sorry if i missed it here. Did they say how many 300A's were sold vs 300B's for 2003 or would this amount be for 300A's only?

This distinction is important to us, but I wouldn't expect L/M is counting by A and B.

and then there is the inportant question, how many non-decontented 300Bs were made?

RC - An excellent question. We know there are several on this board.
