Y'know, when I bought my MM back in '08 and was cruising it last year, it didn't seem like many people really cared that much about them. "Oh, is that a Grand Marquis or a Crown Vic?" was what I was getting a lot.

This year, something is different.

I can't fill the tank without someone saying "nice Marauder!" or go to the grocery store without someone asking me about the car.

And tonight, at my first cruise night of 2010, I noticed more people looking at the car than did last year.

I guess what I'm saying is...
The Marauder appears to be having a renaissance of sorts. Maybe people are finally realizing how cool they were/are?

Well, when I cut the muffs off and put straight pipes on, a la Jerry aka pantheroc, I'll get a little more attention myself...

Our engine gets a lot of attention at car cruise nites too. People don't believe me when I tell them that its a basically stock 4.6l engine.

Did you decide to clean your car this year? J/K Adam.

Things seem the same, but when it's really really clean it almost get's the same amount of attention a 57 Chevy does. I have been in one before, I know.

I think one of the best things I have heard when I take her to a show or cruise night is:

"And you still take her out of the garage and drive her to a show?"

After I tell them there are about 7,600 or so left running in the country.

Because it dosn't say any where outside of mine Mercury easily seen I do get the occasional CV or GM question but the looks on their faces when I have newer mustangs to the left and or right of me is they can not believe it is the same size motor the mustangs have and I usualy get a "Bull ****" Comment from someone.

But cruise I go to the people that put it on can not believe the crowd she always seems to keep around her. I am usualy horse by the end of it all talking to person after person about her.

DAMM I need a show board to help with that one

I just got the same thing today when coming out of church. A member ran up to me and told me how much he loves the Marauder at that very moment, I was proud to own one.

yes the MM s definately a neck breaker. especialy when its all clean, everyone likes it.
yesterday night i was out in the local cruise nite, i pulled in and people could not stop starring at the car.
no one called me out on the S/C (which i like) thanks to the front mount intercooler blending in with black paint.:banana2:

Got the nod from from a CHP cop coming out of a Jack In The Box parking lot in Barstow last weekend. He was looking it over pretty good. Guess he knew who had the top Panther that day.

Me 'n' pantheroc went to the local cruise night tonight. I definitely noticed more people interested in the car this year, vs. last year.

Of course, we also heard the "that's a police interceptor" and "that's an SVT Interceptor" talk, but hey...at least they were lookin'.

Was in Orlando for the SSM yearly picinic and one of the parking guys at Disney world said "Wowwwww.. you don't see alot of those!" "That's a really awesome ride" and went on for about 10 minutes as I was unpacking my stuff for the day..

It made me think alot, How many cars does this guy see a day? And for his mouth to drop when he saw mine made me smile.

Yep, the MM is still getting the casual looks on the road. I think part of it is folks are amazed how a normally average looking Mom and Pop sedan can look so nice with relatively few exterior tweaks.

Yesterday, during my errands, I got a bunch of compliments at the alignment shop (I also left the Carfixer specs with them, as there was another MM in the shop). After leaving, I stopped at the gas station and got stuck in a 20-minute discussion with a Mustang owner, during which, the Budweiser delivery guy piped in and said he always liked the cars. Didn't have the heart to tell him I loathe Budweiser and Bud Light.

When I'm driving around town, I probably get 1 or 2 a month ask me if I want to sell mine. It's usually a black guy.

I was surprised a few years ago. I came out of a car wash, and got out to un-fold the mirrors-a good looking black woman told me she liked my Marauder.
