Message from Wendy Dio
Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.
- Wendy Dio
One of my favorite Heavy Metal singers, From the Black Sabbath days to his solo stuff.

I know the name and know what it's like to lose someone that brough joy into one's life even without meeting them.
Sorry to hear this man.

Only a man like Dio could take a song about a rainbow and make it utterly badass.
The rock/heavy metal world lost a great with his passing.

Less known than his work in Sabbath, Rainbow, or as a solo artist, is his pre-Sabbath stuff.
Ronnie Dio and the Prophets.
Yes, this is really him.

This sucks, I've enjoyed his music since junior high! They actually had a "going away" party for Ronnie tonight at one of the local dive bars.
Best Dio song was with Black Sabbath, 'The Mob Rules'. The song starts loud and fast and stays that way and his vocals are great of course. It's on the Heavy Metal soundtrack. Bizarre movie, love it. I have this poster.
