INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man was found guilty Wednesday night of stabbing his uncle to death during a swordfight that also left his grandmother dead.
Chris Rondeau was found guilty on one charge of murder in the death of Adolf Stegbauer, 69, in April 2009, 6News' Derrik Thomas (derrik_thomas@theindychannel. com) reported.
Police said Rondeau and Adolf Stegbauer got into an argument at a home in the 5200 block of Raceway Road that escalated when one of the men grabbed a sword, prompting the other man to also brandish a sword.
Franziska Stegbauer, 77, Rondeau's grandmother, also died as a result of stab wounds after the fight.
Rondeau was found not guilty on a charge of reckless homicide in her death.
Sentencing in the case is scheduled for June 2.
