Friday evening after work I met my significant other and I drove my grandmother's old Lincoln Town Car to trade it in on our new Marauder. We arrived at the dealership and there it was, in the showroom positioned so it was ready to be driven out the doors of the showroom. We walked into the showroom and there was another couple looking at my car. They were sitting inside of it and had another salesman was telling them about the Marauder. I got kinda pissed because they were sitting in my car. I told the receptionist who we were and she paged the salesman who we ordered the car from. He comes out and I told him to get those people out of my car. He goes to the back and brings out a sold sign and puts it under the wiper of the car and tells the other sales rep that the car has been sold. We go back and sign the paper and exchange the money and he hands over the three sets of keys with the remote start key fobs. We takes us out to the car and shows us how everything works. The whole time I am excited about getting to drive it. Finally, after 20 minutes (seemed like 3 hours!) I get to drive it out of the showroom with other dealership people clapping as we drive it off the showroom floor.
The car is awesome. I am glad I didn't get a Crown Vic Sport. I like the exhaust rumble and the car looks mean. I has big wide chairs and the heated seats work great. I drove it over 100 miles last night taking it showing it to people. Right now its sitting in the garage waiting for me to take it on another curvy road. I better get out there while I can. Tomorrow it's going to rain and then maybe snow Monday morning. That figures. Anyway, I love the car. It was the perfect car for us right now.

Oh, sorry. its basic Black. I originally wanted silver but we got black because neither my significant other nor myself could decide between the two. So wel settled it in the most democratic way possible. A coin toss. LOL!

Well, of course we should have guessed it was black... it should have been obvious to us from this quote from your original post:

Congrats on the the new MM. I've had my '04 DTR for 2 days, 8 hours and 13 minutes. Had my Black '03 for 16 months. Color does not affect the car's performance in any way so it does not really matter to me as long as it's a MM.
We left our Rhett Miller CD in the '03. So I called the Salesmanager about getting it back and guess what? The used car manager had a three-day weekend and took the MM. He sure was excited to get the MM as a trade. Told me he bought one MM at auction and it sold in just a few days.
P.S. I preordered my Bob White Chrome Vinyl Bumper inserts and they arrived today. They really look good on the DTR bumper.

Congrats Chief. You've been waiting for this moment for a while now.
If you specifically ordered the car, it's rather cheesy of the dealer using it as a sales model to demo other customers up 'til you arrive to pick it up. You can be sure all salesmen knew it had been sold.
Hopefully that's the only kind of trouble you'll have there.

As a former auto dealer employee, I can tell you that I've had to refund many a deposit on "specially ordered" cars. Lots of folks get cold feet, some don't even return your call when you let them know that 'their' car has arrived and many people think that if they order the car then when it comes in they can fake they don't like it or threaten to back out of the deal if they don't either reduce the price or give them more for the trade--just to name a few tactics. Many got upset when we offer to give them their money back instead of falling for these stupid tactics.
The car still belongs to the dealer until you sign on the line. If you had paid 100% of the price of the car at the time order was placed, then and only then, should you be upset that someone was sitting in 'your' car. That's why I took the day off and followed my car from the time it hit the lot until I signed on the dotted line. People have lined up at the track just to sit in my MM and I feel very good letting them do it. I do admit to first patting down the women looking for sharp objects.

Personally, I prefer patting down women looking for rounded objects!
