Well. Saturday was a good day. I am now done installing windows and doors on the first floor. All I have left to do is to finish up some drywall and trim work and the first floor will be done. 2nd floor is half done. 4 more windows left. But....they are not easy to get to since I have a walk out basement. The back windows are somewhat high with the uper deck kind of in the way and the stairway for the deck in the way too.:puke: And after the windows, yeee haaaw. A new roof!! Cant wait for that project:puke:

If you are thinking of replacing your windows on your own, I say go for it. After the 1st or 2nd window. Its easy.

Cant believe the difference in temperature and how much quieter the rooms are. Awesome!! Worth all the hard work.

Nice job and nice looking home you have there  We just had all our windows replaced, but we had Evergreen Door & Window do ours. 8-9 guys, 23 windows and a rear door replaced in one day and this included cleanup!!!! (replacement only, not new construction) I would recommend them to ANYONE!!

Oh yeah, lots of cash. We had a qoute from Home Depot for something between $27,000 $29,000. After I install the last four upstairs I will have spent about half+/- those numbers and atleast I know I am doing it right. I do and will never trust home remodeling/building contractors. Too many scams and short cut takers out there.

The short cut leads to the finish line sooner though.:D

We had Window World do ours. 20 windows & all the trim work, took 2 days, right around 10K.

All I did was watch.

BTW... some of my windows are over 30 feet off the ground

Im looking forward to doing the windows in the back of the house since I have a walk out. My 32' ladder will come in handy. Sure has not taken me 2 days doing it myself with some help from my father inlaw or my wife. Wish it did take me 2 days though.
