I received a email today with the layout for the showfield. We are NOT on the hill again this year. Instead we are pretty much center stage and close to everything.

Our section is "S" and out tent is located at the end of our row in section CB. That means we have a entire line to ourselves this year along side the Corral and behind the Midway.

Looks like we didn't get the class split like we wanted either but like last year, I plan to put the word in to Rick to make it happen for 2011.

Yeah, we drive straight in and make a right then follow to the end. Now that Im looking at it more and more, I think we were shoved off to the side last minute.
I plan to annoy Rick if this area sucks. We were the 2nd highest pre-registered car club of the entire show so I think we deserve better.

Yes, last year (2009) we were in the middle of the Yellow Section near "E" or "I" as I recall.

In 2008 we were in the Green Section near "HH".

Not quite sure how we ended up with a Blue Showfield sticker and get put in the "S" Green Section. :dunno:

It oughta be OK .... I just am not familiar with that area of the field.

But I bet that the Yellow Mustang Registry is "front and center" as usual.

Best as I can determine, we will be just to the left of the buildings \/\/\/\/\/\/\/ in the center-back near the treeline.

How did we go from Blue to Green like Bluerauder mentioned?

First we lose the N/A and Modified thing and now we get moved as well.

I guess the Mustangs win out over a car that has been and will further be phased out in the near future.

Maybe in another 10 years we will get a better spot?

Looks liek my car is going to be parked miles away in the generic section.

There are millions of Mustangs. They take up the entire half of the show field every year. The other Ford models get scattered around where they seem fit. We have strong numbers this year so I don't know if they gave us that area to accommodate our parking or we are just sent over there because there was no other area left. Few car clubs have high numbers then as the years go by they die down and give room to a up and coming bigger club. This is our biggest turn out at Carlisle to date so we will have to play it by ear. If this area sucks, Ill put in a request to be back up on the hill.

I don't feel like driving 10 freakin hours to get to Carlise just to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere on the fairgrounds. I'd rather lose the registration cash and stay home!

Yes, we have a entire row to ourselves so we can be parked back to back this year.

Paul,

Take a look again. Isn't row S the first shorter vertical row just after R - a little closer than your map indication?

It looks pretty good to me. It is not very from from a lot of things, the display buildings, the grandstand, the midway, the dyno testing, and the car corral which I find interesting. I think people will like the location. Other than the breeze, it's better than on the hill in my opinion.

And it will look great having our own back to back row.

Thanks.

Jon

Can we set up the tent dead center of the row?...or must it be on the ends of the row?

vtwoodsman: the location is not bad, as jonroe said; it's actually closer to the main buildings than last year's location.

The top of the hill sucked! There was barely any foot traffic up there!
Our cars weren't really noticed up there.

Yes, I think that the location will be OK and definitely much closer to the midway than last year. Maybe being near the "new car" Corral will generate some passing foot traffic. If we are close enough, we actually may be able to sell DOOM's car this year.

Don't think that we have much say in where the tent goes since the Carlisle Events folks put it there. IMHO the most important thing is to have enough spaces to keep us together. The "S" area that is shown on the map (and also on Google maps) looks to be the perfect size for our group. This is why "pre-registration" was important.

:woohoo: to us all being together that is what matters the most out of all of this!

If I'm looking at Charlie's photo correctly I believe we are over by the trees. I seem to recall that is where they parked all the Mercurs last year. It's not exactly a slap in the face but I think we were more primo two years ago (the HEAT year). Just hope its not a two week walk to the restrooms.

Hi Guys

So is anyone going to try out the dyno?

I shall be spending some time with the Lincoln Mark vii Club just across from the dyno and for the last couple years we have been waiting for a massive engine explosion :D

You don't have to worry about that. That section is not in the middle of nowhere. We're right next to midway, which is where a majority of the foot traffic will be. We are off to the side, but we're close to everything. I thought where we were last year was the middle of nowhere. No one likes walking up that hill in the heat if they don't have to.

I was there Sat and Sun. I parked right in front of the tent both days. I parked between CRUZTAKER and Blackened300a (Paul) on sat. Red reflective letters in the rear bumper. Carbon fiber interior overlay stickers. My dad came with me. I was the only one with a wooden folding chair.

This is my car right here. I took this picture from my phone because I caught some random stranger posing for a picture with my car and I thought it was funny.

After meeting me what do you have to worry about? Oh yea, do not turn your back on CBT and then their is Justbob, -Matt-, dakslim, Phroggunner, The 'Butt' Bandit and let us not forget Dom.

Never mind run for the hills and lock up your wife and daughters.

I like the new location. Less of a distance to drag any loot from the swap meet, plus no hill to lug it up.

There's a modest downhill grade at this year's location -- I hope the water from any rain will drain okay. Imagine the mudpit at the flat spot where we were in '08 . . . .

Seriously though, the Marauders are all together with plenty of room. As long as I can park anywhere in the place, I'm good. I hated parking 3/4 of a mile away or spending more than the gate admission to park in someone's yard for the last decade. For what it's worth, we're actually closer to some permanent bathrooms with running water, plus the ATM in building T.

Anyway, a bad day are All-Ford Carlisle is a day away from work. What can be better than that? See y'all there!
