Would it end up sounding louder if it were in the trunk? Louder in the cabin area maybe.

Confused? Is your pump crapping out or are you moving it to the trunk from the engine bay?

Both, may as well do it while I'm installing the new pump. I don't think it'll be any louder, I'm going to experiment with mounting hardware.
