For those who may have read this earlier, I managed to lose all my original text. So this will be the Cliff notes version of Carlisle. LOL Mr. Man and I got there on Friday morning. Weather was good. Went to the Show Field and were proud to see the sign showing the '03-'04 Marauder Class! We were the first Silver Birch to arrive and for a long while we were the only SB. Enjoyed seeing our old friends and meeting new ones. At about 3 pm the skies darkened and we experienced a "storm of biblical proportions" which forced a gridlock of those fleeing the field for their hotels. Skies cleared and we enjoyed a buffet at the Embers restaurant at the Hotel Carlisle with 14 or so other members. Friday overnight brought a spectacular electrical storm. We were glad to see that members still in transit arrived safe and sound! Saturday morning we had overcast skies but it was dry. Made our way to the show field amidst the convoy of Yellow Mustangs. The Marauders just kept arriving, (including several more Silver Birches) until nearly all our alotted spaces were filled. Everyone brought more than enough food but we had a momentary crisis re lack of a grill. This was quickly remedied by taking up a collection to purchase one. Blackened300a and Krytin dashed off in Paul's Fusion (that came in really handy!) and returned with not one but 2 grills. In the meantime, Vtwoodsman (John) came to the rescue with his grill and heroically started cooking up scores of hot dogs, hot sausages, brats and even sausage and peppers (they looked great) for the now nearly starving crowd! (I hope he knows how much I appreciated him!!) In the meantime the new grills were assembled in record time by Krytin, VistaBlue and Blackened300a. Mrs. Jabird (Denise) and LadyHawke fired one up and started flipping burgers like short order cooks on speed. LOL! You guys were awesome!! I had the pleasure (and the easiest job by far) of grilling the pork ribs provided by LeoVampire. JD kept the drinks stocked and iced, and Fast Merc supplied the tunes. Everyone else pitched in to ensure we all got enough to eat. Thanks all!
Blackened 300a pulled off another great show and Smoke's T-shirts were selling like hot cakes! Eric and I want to thank them both for their tremendous efforts to make Carlisle 2010 a huge success! If you were there, you know what I mean. It was really great to see everyone. We love seeing our Marauder friends and we met so many great new (to us) ones! Safe travels home everyone!! See you next time!

Had a great time at Carlisle this year. The turnout was excellent and even the rain late on Friday did not dampen our spirits at all. Despite some ominous clouds on Saturday morning, the day shaped up very well and made for another nice day.
Many thanks to Blackened300a, SMOKE, Krytin, Ms. Denmark and all who contributed to make this one of the best events yet. The location was better IMHO because we got alot more through foot traffic to stop by and ogle the lines of MMs.

I was just pulling up to Gate 3 in the pooring rain and started to see all of you comming out of the Fiar grounds!
I passed you all one by one trying to make it to our area. Once I got there there were only 2 Marauder's left and 2 people under the tent trying to stay dry.
One guy took off and left his hood open the wind was buckling the hood and it looked like it was going to snap off andhit the windshild I went out in the rain and wind to close it for him before it happend. Come to find out he was hidding inside one of the buildings.
Accross the way some people in the Lightning line were caught underneath their tent as the wind brought it down on top of them.
The water got so high that one of the Lightnings ended up in water up to the running boards.
The wind was blowing so hard the rain drops sounded like hail bouncing off of the cars.
To say it was an intence storm is a total understatment!

Yes, that was the event shirt this year in "white" courtesy of Blackened300a and SMOKE. The shirts also came in "black". Check with them on availability of any leftovers. Might be all gone by now 'cause they were selling like gangbusters.

I haven't pulled the box out of my trunk to see whats left. Chances of extras will be very slim.
I will post up the orders that have to be mailed along with my extras later on tonight.

Denise and I had a fun time this weekend, though we missed the rain on Friday...darn it. We got up to the campground in Gettysburg around 830PM Friday night and just took it easy for the remainder of the evening. Friday was also my birthday....
Saturday we cruised up to Carlisle and had a great time with all of the MM folks, and had fun roaming around the fairgrounds. That afternoon we talked with the Sign Guy about Marauder street signs. After discussing with him that there were 37 of us there, he stated that he'll make street signs for next year. Now we'll just have to wait to see if he keeps his word.
To Paul and Paula, and everybody else that helped put this years event together, Denise and I do appreciate the effort. If you need any help for next year please let us know.
Next year we're looking at bringing the camper up to a campground near Carlisle.
Below are some pics that I took.
Til next year.

Til next year. First of all, Happy Birthday Jay!! Hope you enjoyed the party we threw for ya! LOL:D It was great to see you and Denise. In fact we couldn't have managed getting all that food cooked without your lovely wife! Hope we didn't wear her out too much! Please tell her how much we all appreciated how she pitched in. I'm sure we will be needing you guys next year as well. Better plan to stay closer to the fairgrounds for sure! ;)

Man I went to this show religiously for about ten years. When I moved to Florida the logistics get a bit more complicated. I hope y'all keep it up and I 'll do that trip in the next couple of years. Rain or shine! This show hass a history of bad weather. One year local farmers were pulling vendors out with their tractors as they got completely flooded out. What was not water was nasty mud! No hill for a climber!

I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience that my lack of attendance caused. Please accept my sincere apology.
My car failed state inspection due to multiple issues. The fixes were delayed due to a financial situation with my bank holding a deposited check much longer than anticipated. Even today, I'm still awaiting parts on order, also delayed because of the bank. With all of this stuff going on, I completely missed the date marked on my calender.
When I got Charlie's call, I was 2.5 hours away at the junkyard to get a R. H. Mirror assembly to replace mine that was ripped off when I clipped a delivery truck. Too late and too far away to do anything to alieviate the situation that my negligence caused.
Many thanks to those who pulled together to fix the crisis. You guys are awesome! I'm glad that it all worked out in the end.

We managed without your grilling expertise, but you did miss a great show! You better mark your calander now for next year and plan to be there! We missed you.........and with the larger member turnout.......we need you! LOL!
