Saw a brand new 5.0 today at the local cruise nite tonite. Burgundy convertible with black leather interior. When it pulled in I didn't notice a discernable difference in engine/exhaust note. Biggest disappointment was the mid-forties price tag. No bargains for a while til the gotta haves get their cars. We'll keep the MM it's paid for:)

....That's crazy money!
Once the 'gotta have one' suckers get ***** by the Ford dealers, you should be able to pull down a nice 5.0 GT for mid 30s.
The performance the new 5.0 offers is certainly interesting but the MM has the looks that turn heads and with the right mods will offer more power than can be used on the streets. I'll keep my MM:beer:

That is how I ended up with my DTR. Ford dealers wanted way too much for a next generation Mustang in 04, so I bought a better car, the Marauder. :D

It's a vert, that sounds about right $$ wise..
A loaded coupe is 38 - 39K.

And with the cash back even less.
Saw a Cobra replica there too. It must have been a wide body version because I'm pretty sure I could have fit in it. Not sure if the old bones would have allowed me to get back out so I didn't ask if I could sit in it. Guy said it was built in S. Africa but it was from a company I'm not familiar with. Nice car with seemingly lots of leg room. Guy driving it had the seat up quite a bit, I'd guess him at 5'9" or so. Big hunking Roush motor in it boot.

What do you mean "black paint"? :dunno: Car was Burgundy with Black leather. Engine was covered with one of those dopey plastic engine covers.

'SUPERPERFORMANCE' makes those Cobra replicars.
They are out of South Africa and they make a very nice car.
My brother and I considered buying one of them back in '03 when we were looking for a Cobra kit.
Only problem is that they are sold 'turnkey' only...you can't build the car yourself.
You're right about the legroom...plenty...it's just not too much fun climbing back out of the car.

I have two opinions!?!?...

I know of Superformance and Factory Five and there's another that escapes me at the moment. This one was sumtin, sumtin racing sumtin. If he's at next weeks cruise nite I'll ask him about it again. Guy seemed to be one of those trader types who have more money than they know what to do with as he said he had a few other cars too. Should get to know him so when he gets tired of his current crop of toys maybe I can get them at a bargain.
