What would it be?

I'm not talking about speakers, but the actual sound of the car itself. Would you take a low grumbling V8? A bone vibrating diesel? A super tuned, high RPM Indy car?

What would do it for you? Specific models are welcome.

I like the rumble my MM has, but I really love the sound of larger displacement engines, where you can not only hear it, but feel it too.

A 50's Oldsmobile Rocket V8 through lake pipes melt my ears.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
60's 6 cylinder Jaguar's.
I loved the sound of my old Jeep CJ7 too.
GM's current 6.2 sounds pretty F'n good too.
Corevette Racing C6R's
The rotary powered Mazda's in the Grand-Am series sound cool.
The MM at high rev's sounds awesome too.

I could go on for awhile I'm sure....

I love the old Muscle car era big blocks, Ford and Chevy alike. Nothing quite like an all Motor muscle car making 500+ to the wheels that have that nasty rumble. I drool every time my buddy fires up his 69 Camaro with some nice lopey cams or my buddy takes me for a ride in his 67 Stang. That nasty burble burble of a classic carbureted pushrod V8 has given me chills since I was a kid.

Buick Grand National with a huge turbo.
when you are following that car at normal speeds its sounds like an airplane.
the best sounding V6 ever.

I very much enjoy Japanese straight-6 engines out of their performance cars, i.e. 2JZ from the Supra and the RB26 from the Skylines. Even the old L-type straight-6 motors from the Datsun Z family sound great.

I will ALWAYS be a V8 man at heart though.

As far as stock, late model cars go, I think the Mustangs are number 1 by FAR!

Can't agree more with you. By far since the 80s Mustangs have the best sounding exhaust bar none.

I would want my 1997 Camaro SS with the Two On The Left exhaust. It was just a perfect sound.

Pushrod V-8 with a heavy cam and open headers. Or maybe a Detroit diesel 8V-71 with straight pipes. They have quite a sound.

I'm with Joe Walsh.

I love the sound of an original 427 Cobra. I've had the privlige of seeing and hearing a few of them at speed at Watkins Glen during the vintage car races.
Oh yeah, and a Thunderbolt too ! :banana2: :burn:

Mustangs do it for me...they just sound nasty with their snarky bark.

I would like mine to sound like an electric car and then be able to put down 600+rwhp on the dyno.

I love watching the reaction of an owner of a loud car getting the doors blown off by a much quieter car. :D

Anything that had a well set up Ford Big block with a cam and high compression.

I love sitting @ a light with them and watching the windows rattle on the cars surounding it just from the rumble!
