I'm here today because these cars are built like tanks, but I'm sure luck had a bit to do with it. My rookie and I were t-boned at an intersection by a distracted driver running a red light. This happened June 2nd. I broke a couple of things and am sore but happy to be here.

I took most of the hit as I was in the driver's seat and we were hit on the left side. I'll be off of work for a bit but at least now I can kind of get around, I was pretty much laid up for a few weeks. I won't be driving any time soon which really bites cause I'll be stuck at home. I'll post pics of the cruiser once I get them.

Wow, happy to hear you are allright.

Wonder how the next generation of cruisers, {taurus, impala or chargers?} would have protected you. I allways felt safe in the '92 and '94 grand marquis i had.

Glad to hear you guys are OK for the most part.

This accident happened in NC, not far from where I live. Yes the trooper lived.

For a second in that last pic I thought I saw a turbo, then it occurred to me I was looking at the torque converter.

fastblackmerc, do you know the story behind those pictures? How does a whole front end of a car come off like that

From what I remember, the trooper was chasing someone that tried to not go through a drivers license checkpoint. Trooper lost it going over a hill and hit a telephone pole. He had a broken arm and broke both legs.

After being in a bad accident myself in a car before the Marauder, that was one of the main selling points because it was big and safe. I know when I drive mine I stand a better chance of less injuries and possibly walking away on my own two feet.

Glad you and your rookie are okay!!

Glad to hear you and the car came out as good as you did. Now you can be thankful you were not in a Smart Car or a Prius.

I have nothing but respect for our cars, I feel safe and so does the family.

Woah! You're lucky to come out of that with "just a couple of broken things"! Yeah, these cars have had a 5 star safety rating for something like 17 years. Even so, good thing whatever that hit didn't hit right in the front door otherwise I don't think it would have made a difference. Get well soon.
