About four or five years ago or so my childhood best friend Brad (ponyup) finally moved back to Chicago after following his working career to Tucson and then to san Diego. He came back driving a really nice Nissan Maxima fully loaded car, yes just one car, FAIL. Anyways I had the Marauder for awile at that time and flipped him the keys....... Thats where it started...:D

First up he had to have some work done on the Nissan so he rented a new V6 Mustang and couldn't get over the quality and speed of the car. A week later he was determined to purchase one. Thats where I put my foot down! I told him I would laugh at him every time he came over in a fail V6 and that I insisted he would be happier in the GT. He went to test drive one, yeah, that lasted a few minutes. He bought the best one on the lot and drove the wee out of it since last year when I talked him into purchasing a CV LX for work to help cut the mileage LOL! Yep.... Had to have it :P. It's been such a great car, plus all the times he's had my MM at his disposal that tonight he put a deposit down on DDog's MM:eek:.

A little recap.

Maxima-SOLD
Mustang-Bought
CV LX-Bought
MM-Bought

Isn't this kinda backwards as we grow older?:D Good luck on the new ride Bro. Hope you get the Vicky sold.

Bob has talked me into the best purchases of my life. DDogs Rauder is in great condition and I had my mind made up the minute I got behind the wheel, then I heard the headers, and It was like falling in love all over again. Tomorrow I go to the bank, get the rest of DDogs cash and I'm hoping to have her home for the weekend.

As Bob mentioned, the Vic is up for sales on cars.com, as well as craigslist if anyone is interested.

Thanks Bob, and DDog, it will be great to roll to Lousiville next year in my own Marauder (To Zack, Dom, Joe, Brandon, and Takedown: Told you guys it was just a matter of time)

Well I like to set goals and follow through, but it was you Bob that taught me to enjoy cars and speed again after our early days with the Camaros

BTW: Good call on that lame 4.0 V6 Mustang!
Now if he was looking at the new 2011 V6 Mustang...:hmmm:

Don't stick your tongue out at me, unless you intend to use it.

I like to say that a DTR is kind of like a tea bag, you don't know how good it is, until you put it in hot water

Good news though bud, my loan check came today, it's deposited and DDog and I are going to do the exchange on Tuesday (He's in NY right now). And I even got 3 bites on the Vic tonight after Carmax low-balled me (Which Bob said they would do) but really, $4K for an 03 LX with only 78K mi on it?

Let's just say they put a grand into it in order to put it up for sale, and warranties and all that crap. Suggested retail is $8750, so they are almost going to double their investment? BS, I'll give the car away before falling for that.

Is this car Chi-town located?
Id buy from Carmax which I have (2) but Id never sell a car to them unless I was really desperate.

$4000.00? I figured they would have lowballed you at 5! I let them screw me in on trade once, only once.

Fixed it.

Seriously though, I was pretty disappointed. But then I came home and had a few leads. I got a guy coming tomorrow that if he likes it, wants to take it to a dealer and buy tomorrow. We have already been negotiating pricing through email, I think I can get $7600 or $7700 and that would let me walk away happy

Thats sounds better! I was really worried that you would settle for what Carscrew was gonna offer. I'm glad to see you didn't let them get rich off of you! Good luck tomorrow!!

I paid $94 to sell my boat in Boat trader! Ofcourse I upgraded to almost all the options available to help for a quick sale. I sold a Blazer on Ebay to a guy in MI once and I seem to remember paying WAY to much for that also.

Good news Bobba, I think I may ahve sold the Vic. We agreed on a price ($7500) It's a little lower than I wanted to go, but still within my acceptable range. He is trying to sell his current car, and the couple he's trying to sell it to is having it checked by a mechanic Monday, so I might have it sold. I hope so, I really don't want 3 cars

PonyUP
06-26-2010, 12:10 PM
Definitely looking good, dude is spending $200 on a used car inspection from Ford on Monday. Pretty sure with a thumbs up there, we have a sale

justbob
06-26-2010, 08:27 PM
That sounds pretty promissing. But if he comes back with ANYTHING negative and wants to lower the price then remind him of the $1,200 that you allready lowered it too!! It's a USED car, with the right mechanic, all cars "could use something"... I'm sure it will get a good bill of health though.
