Pretty amazing...granted, they were granny driving the Mustang around the track...but 48.5 mpg from 305 HP V6!??!....

I would have expected high 30s.

:hmmm:..... I wonder what mpg you could coax out of a 412 HP 5.0 on a nice long road trip??

i still think v6 is weak The base and unmodded 2011 V6 makes more power than our V8s made...

How 'weak' can it be?

I'd like to take one of those 6's and drop it in a CVPI.

Don't knock the little cousin . I was fortunate yesterday to go for a PDI roadtest at my Ford Store. You have to remember this v6 Mustang will kick butt... it has Great power over 3 Grand.

Yeah, a new stock V6 Mustang would easily take a stock Marauder.

Times are definatly changing...

I think the V6 is going to become a new sleeper. Throw a turbo on it and surprise surprise surprise.

PLUS the V6 comes with the same brake/suspension and 6-speed manual gearbox as the GT.

For the price of the V6 nicely equipped you can't beat it.

TRUE. But the new mustang's don't turn heads like a blacked out marauder. I think most v6 cars now would take a stock marauder. Just a few days ago I was having a hard time leaving one of those honda minivans off the light...... were foresure not the quickest anymore

I know right, my g/f has an 08 Honda Pilot which has a 247hp/242hp 3.5L V6 and the Honda Odyssey minivan. The few times I have driven it I've had to watch my speed cause it does have some get up and go from the 0-80mph range.

Bawazir,

Personally, my favorite Mustangs are those with a V8 under the hood and a manual transmission behind it. With that being said, I don't mind the V6 and I4 engines in current and past Mustangs because it helped keep the name alive. Without all of the people that bought the base Mustang because they liked the body or a base Convertible, the Mustang name would have gone the way of the Camaro from the poor sales numbers.
