Myrtle Beach, SC question for locals

We will be doing our yearly trek to Garden City Beach for a week starting this Saturday. Curious to know about the number of tourists this year so far. With the economy last year it wasn't that busy for a major vacation week. I am NOT a crowd person, but "our week" got bumped by the owners family so now we are there for the 4th week. We will not be bringing the DTR this year. Decided to let her rest and drive the LS8 down.

I'll let you know about the traffic. Joan and I will be traveling in the DTR Fri. am July 2nd. Get 3 days by ourselves before our younger daughter and family show up late eve on Mon July 5. Have a mini-van lined up for the week, starting next Monday! UGH -- but ... we can get 6 people with 2 car seats in it!
