After probably close to 20 years, I will be attending a Red Sox game tonight at Fenway Park! The last time I went to see the Red Sox play was at Yankee stadium just 2 days before 9/11/01. I got these tickets for free and decided to take my pop to return the favor of him taking me when I was a kid. My grandfather passed away last year and he loved to watch the Red Sox play even in his old age with Alzheimer's. I think this will be a great way for my dad and I to connect with my grandfather and I am sure he will be there with us.
I know not everyone likes the Red Sox, but please go easy on me because this is going to be a sentimental experience for me.
I plan on getting someone to take a picture of my father and I in the park and getting it blown up and framed to give to him on his birthday in July.
I will take pics and post here for those who enjoy a nice ball field and the Red Sox!

That's a great idea to do for your Dad---Dads are not here forever----I wish I could have done more with my Dad----------still miss him even today---and he has been gone 32 years..................so you want to remember all the good times for those memories never go away-----so its a great idea-- WTG!
Actually I am taking my family to the ball park this 4th for the game and fire works afterwords--so its a fun thing to do!!!

Thank you sir! HAVE FUN AT YOUR GAME! My dad was my grandfather's care taker and it really hit him hard because he would go see him everyday for 3 years before his passing and he became really close. Yes father and son are close, but they became really close and my dad was sad to see him go, as we all were. I try to see my family as much as I can. My mom is a breast cancer survivor, but doctors say it could come back in 10 years... Well the 10 years is up and I fear for losing either of my parents, so I try to spend time with them as much as I can and make some great memories. I am sure my father and I will feel my grandfather's presence in the park with us tonight!
Like I said, I will post up some pics of the park!

More young folks need to have your thinking when it comes to their parents----its great to hear your thoughts---you will appreciate what you do later on---I know-

Sounds like a great outing for you and your Dad. I am sure that he will appreciate the framed photo as a cherished memory. Enjoy the game. :2thumbs:
Take pics! Sounds like a good time. When I was bar hopping in Boston one night years ago, we ended up on the backside of the ballpark, took pics of the fence. That was sometime after we left the Cheers bar (Bull and Finch) and Aerosmith's bar 'Mama Kin's'. Memories, Boston was great!(Reminds me, I think I owe DTRjoe 40 bucks for the Cubs/White Sox games, ugh...)

Fenway is awesome as you can see in my picture. I too went in 2005 to see the White Sox and Red Sox! What an awesome place to see a game. I too took my dad to Yankee Stadium in 2008 before they tore it down. My dads a Yankees fan and Im a White Sox so naturaly we saw a Yankees bs White Sox game. What an awesome stadium it was. I too had someone take a picture of us. It was our first and only game together. Very memorable moment for me.

I remember my first and only Red Sox game my Dad took me to. Don't remember the year. I think it was in Sept. and the Sox played the Washington Senators. That tells you how long ago that was! What a great time to share with Dad! Have fun. Weather's going to be great! I did a tour of the park just 2 weeks ago.

YEAH! I can't believe how awesome the weather is going to be!
I have had some smacks in the face (figuratively) that made me wake up to the fact that my parents aren't going to be around forever. Once I realized this, I realized I need to spend as much time with them as I can and make some great memories. I have always been really close with my family and have always been family oriented. Couldn't live without them and they have always been there for me, so now that I am older, it is time to start returning the favor!

I havn't been there since I was a preteen. My grandfather on my Dad's side was a huge fan and took me once to see the Red Socks.
Thanks for bringing back the memories!

I got to attend a game at Fenway several years ago - Very cool - So much history! My very first sight walking in during the first inning was a a cop and a security guard standing with their arms folded while some guy was heaving into a trash barrel. Pretty sure that guy missed the game!
