#@*%! Oxygen Sensor!!!!!!!!

I got a "Check Engine" light the other day and it was "Lean Condition Bank 2"......sooooo, I figgered new Oxygen Sensors (just fronts since rears are off) were in order at 215K+ miles??

Have any of you gotten the driver's side one out without the correct socket???:confused::eek: It caused me to invent some new words but I got the sucker out!!!:mad2::argue:

Why do they put them in so tight and why is this one in the EXHAUST MANIFOLD where you can't hardly see it much less get a wrench on it???:confused: The passenger's side was in the down pipe.....took about 2 minutes!!:beer:

I drove it to town and I swear it has better throttle response!!:banana:

Time for some headers.....

When I went to the long tube headers from SW I could not get the o2 sensor out of the drivers side manifold and I had it off the car first. I did not have a set of torches to use to help get it off so had to buy a new one.

Changed both fronts out so they would be fresh on both sides but made the mistake of using non specific before the cat's o2 sensors and had to buy the correct one's to stop the check engine light from comming back on. :mad2:


So yes the drivers side is a pita to deal with!

Check for a vacuum leak before you buy a new O2, spray around the intake just to be sure.

What?! There's more on the passenger side!? How many does this thing have? I replaced both the drivers side sensors. I thought that was all. Are there 2 more on the passenger side?

4 in all.....two on each side but most tuners turn the back 2 off!!:cool:

I got the Motorcraft sensors from RockAuto for about $36.00 each!!:beer:

D'oh! Oh that's right. I was thinking there were only 2 that mattered and after the second one I just didn't bother looking for any more. Oh well, at least I already did the hardest one (I hope!).
