Anyone know how to remove the passenger air bag from the dash? Let's skip the obvious disconnect the battery and wait 1/2hour please.

Hit something really hard!!! I believe the fasteners are accessed above the glovebox and under the trim that crosses the dash.

The FSM shows that it's pretty simple...Basically you push in on the 2 glove box door tabs to allow the glove box to swing all the way down, then you can see the airbag module and the 2 retaining bolts...doesn't say what size they are. Remove the bolts and push the module out through the front of the dash. Looks like you may have to remove the long faux-dot-matrix trim panel first.

Blah blah blah you should use the special tool to prevent the airbag from deploying accidentally blah blah blah etc...

Wow, I always thought it was a real dot matrix trim panel.

Just unhook the battery and wait at least 30 minutes before trying to remove it. I took all the bags out of mine and the above about sums it up.

If it does go off, I have one for sale!

Thanks everyone. Will try when I return from my trip. It's the last thing I need to remove to get the rest of my dash out.
