Okay, how bad can gas be? Is gas really cheaper when paying cash only? Here are the current prices for 93 Octane $2.95 (Shell) or $2.73 (FreeState)

I'm not sure if FreeState is a small chain or what, but I avoid the higher octane gas at cheap, small brand stations. Reason being is the lower 87 octane will be filled up about as often as any BP, Shell, etc. station, but the high octane stuff probably gets fills few and far between so you don't know how long it's been sitting in there.

I know what Free State station you are talking about. Honestly I have only put Exxon in mine for the past 2-3 years, maybe a few Shell station fill-ups but I don't trust any discount brand gas.

That's a 22 cent difference, at 19 gallons it $4.18 difference. I mean it's you call but don't be surprised if you don't get the gas mileage you normally do.

that store probably buys the cheapest gasoline they can find from the cheapest supplier and usually its unbranded (like sunoco or bp or shell) and it has no additive (techron, invigorate, etc etc) and therefore is equivalent to ***** gas. I'm a gas man. I know.

The only gas I use is shell is shell 93. In Cleveland it's the only gas that 100% gas (not mixed with ethanol). I don't know about exxon/mobil because we have none around here.
