Looking for crown victoria/mercury race cars....has anyone every seen one?
If not got a good question: how much power do you think it would take to make a 80s model fast and respected. What mods would you do and keep in mind streetable at the end of the day.

I've got an '89 box Vic with the 5.0 fuelie engine.
It isn't that quick with it's 2.73 rear gear.
If I was going to mod it, which I'm not because I've got other project cars I want to mod,
I would do 1 of 3 things in addition to putting in a 3.27 posi rear:
1: Do the usual list of 5.0 bolt-on mods
2: Drop in an FRPP 340hp aluminum head 5.0 crate motor
3: Drop in a mildly built 351W

If you want to do some mods on the cheap. Make it a H.O. (U&L intake, roller rocker's,351 firing order). Electric fan from a 96~98 T-Bird, B303 cam, UDP's, LT's and 2.5 H pipe.

the biggest thing is find a 5.0 efi or a 351 carb car , the first thing is change the gears in the rearend first. i have an 87 mgm and its mildly modded and its was good , i finaly changed the rear to a 3.55 gear and its a totally differant car !!!! check out grandmarq.net there good guys and they will help you as much as they can

The 88-91 Vic is such an awesome car; my old man had an 88. I will never forget how much I loved it. My parents got a second hand Continental in 01 and donated the vic which had close to 300k on the clock.

Marianne's daily driver so...Nope...stock s.s. tips....and 250 hp stock.
I hate to say it, but it runs 0-60 in 5.7 secs and the 1/4 in 14.2 secs...
I'm glad that my Marauder is modded because the Subie would smoke a stock Marauder....bad.:o

You need to import the Cosworth Impreza for her Joe Walsh...395hp and 400tq. It will stomp most modded MM's
