AKA 2012 Camaro Z/28 Supercharged
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96645
NO MORE DOUBTING THE CAMARO Z28!!!
2012 Camaro Z28 with 6.2L supercharged V8 (6AT in this model). No confirmation yet on whether this is the LS9 or LSA motor.
Spread that around folks! All the doubters will eat their words http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Now these new photos are much better than the ones we previously posted (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66582)! This Camaro Z28 was captured out testing with several other Camaros, as well as a Mustang GT500 (for comparison of course).
Seen prominently, even with the front covering is a much lower front fascia with large intakes. You can make out the shape despite the covering and it resembles the latest Transformers 3 Bumblebee Camaro front fascia. The hood cowl also looks to be more prominent than on standard Camaro.
The wheels are 20" SP550 anodized black - 20x10 front and 20x11 rears. Wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The brake calipers very much resemble those from the CTS-V.
Quad exhaust (dual pipes per side) are at the rear, and the photographer described the sound from this car as "nothing short of unholy!"
Best part is, GM was courteous enough to tape the engine specs on the dash: 6.2L supercharged V8, with Auto Transmission.

Lol! I'll bet the Corvette crowd will love finding out they paid just $30,000 too much for a Camaro.

You need hot fudge, wet nuts and a cherry for it to be called a sundae.

I'd drive a Pinto wagon before I bought one of those.

This Camaro Z28 was captured out testing with several other Camaros, as well as a Mustang GT500 (for comparison of course).
After several days of testing the Chevrolet engineers all agreed that the Shelby GT500 was a much nicer car.
Some of the engineer's comments:
"WOW.....This is a great car! AWESOME power and handling....
too bad the Camaro can't keep up."
"Can I get an employee discount on a FORD?"
"The exterior looks much nicer than the f-u-g-g-ly Camaro, the all aluminum S/C DOHC 5.4 is stronger and the Shelby's interior is light years ahead of the Camaro's hideous interior....
But, We'll still sell some of these Camaros to the old farts who are too poor to buy a Vette."
"We like the Purina dog chow stripes....We might slap a huge #3 on the side to get some NASCAR loving suckers to buy it!"
"Did we really design this Camaro's interior??!!!"
"Is FORD hiring?"
"Who designed this Camaro's interior??"
"We are placing all of our faith in the hope that new Mustang 5.0 won't have any aftermarket superchargers available."

Joe,
ROTFLMAO!!!!! Love it!
The one item that distinguishes a Vette from anything else (performance wise) that GM makes is the FRAME!!!
The frame thingy is what gives the MM/Panthers their stiffness, though Ford has made a good case for unibody with the new Mustang.

That's almost as accurate as saying a MM engine is the same as a Cobra.

And they kept the same ugly interior. Whooooooooooooooo!
A guy in my accounting class has a brand new, triple black Camaro. We were sitting in class last night and got absolutely flooded from rain within minutes. His sunroof/moonroof was flipped open, lol. Too bad for a new Mustang owner, his windows were down about halfway . Neither one of those two R-tards would run out and close them, either. Water in the parking lot was up to my rims when class let out. My windows were cracked a half inch, but I have ventshades so all was good .

After sitting in a new Camaro at the Boston Auto Show... that interior is AWFUL.
The front fascia is the same as Bumblebee from the second Transformers movie, the stacked foglights/vents, plus the front spoiler give that away.
Chevy will price it around GT500 prices, which are rediculously high. A used corvette is cheaper than a new SS Camaro, which has me thinking...
Since when is the Z28 a better package than the SS? silly Chevy cant even badge right...

I'm no Chevy expert, but I always viewed the 'SS' model as the baddest - top of the line performance Chevy, not the Z28....:dunno:

Doesn't seem to me that the SS version of any Chevy is all that exclusive. At car shows every Chevy I see is an SS. Seems to me if you want a rare Chevy get the 6-cylinder version.

Yes according to Motor Trend it will be available by the end of this year. The only thing I can't understand is why so late being 2013 the Camaro gets shifted to a whole new smaller chassis shared with the Cadillac ATS so at best they get 2 years of this Z28. The new chassis will get a 5.3L D.I. V8..... still a pushrod motor. Way to go GM!... direct injection technology on pushrod motor.:lol::lol: No wonder they needed a bailout.

the car has horrible interior, an ok exterior but there is no doubt the LS (pushrod engine) is king. five years from now a regular middle class guy will spend whey less $ to make a very reliable LS platform faster than a MOD engine. we will have some good competition
