I have changed the fluid (pumped it out of the res) 3x over a year and replaced it with AMSOIL ATF. It still would squawk/squeal at low speeds.
NOT ANYMORE!
I saw this bottle of Lucas power steering fluid with additives and conditioners in it that said it was compatable with all steering fluids - even honda.
It is not the stop leak stuff. It's this:

Anyway it worked, I got all of the fluid out of the res, then filled it up. It took almost the whole bottle. It isn't red, it looks more like motor oil in color.
Steering is quiet and good, it's been a couple of weeks. Just wanted to share my results, I do not typically use any kind of lucas type products. This one worked really well for my MM.

I have a 93 Mercury Tracer with 195,000+ miles on it, it developed a loud valve rattle 2 years ago and I started using Lucas oil stabilizer with the oil changes and it's as quiet as a church mouse. I love that stuff!!!

I never used it, but might consider it now since
1. I get the same noise on low-speed turns sometimes
2. You didn't steer me wrong on the timing guides for my 2V.

Lucas petroleum not to be confused with Lucas electronics:)

Lucas electronics# Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
# Lucas - Inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
# The three position Lucas switch - Dim, Flicker and Off.
# The Original Anti-Theft Device - Lucas Electrics.
# Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices
# Back in the 70's, Lucas decided to diversify its product line and began manufacturing vacuum cleaners. It was the only product they offered which did not suck.

Lucas' upper cylinder lubricant works great.

:D I'm glad I could help you with the chain guides. We really need a BOK here.

i use the lucas fuel additave, every fill up, not sure if it really makes a difference, but id like to believe so ;), get the big bottle, i.ts 9.99, opposed to 4.99 or more for the tiny single use bottle. every mechanic ive ever known has told me its good stuff--whitey
