I want to ****ing kill someone.
My Iphone fell out of my pants today airing up my tires. I went back to the gas station where it happened and asked to look at the security tapes to see if I could see it fall out. Sure enough, it had fallen out...and not a couple minutes later someone came by and took it. I got a good view of the vehicle but no plates. Any ideas?

Report it stolen. In some cases you can lock or erase a lost phone. I can do that.

That sucks. Buy a $50 air compressor that plugs into your cigarette lighter. That way you can avoid the whole gas station air thing.

I reported it to apple already, plus I am contacting some DEA buddies that owe me favors to see if the patriot act has anything to do with locating the address of my phones location. I know that it can track your location via GPS, so it should be able to do that backwards. We will see...

I hope you called your cell phone service provider (AT&T?) They're the ones that provide service and can shut it off. Not Apple. Sorry to hear about this.

well, this is the lounge after all, and he was putting air in the tires when it happened, so it was kinda car related...

That's why I don't spend hundreds of dollars on something so easy to lose.

I figured I would post because I was angry and needed to vent. If you think it was pointless then don't read on, however it is to two pages with helpful suggestions that I appreciate and have used so far as well as I am sure there are other members that can commiserate. This is why I posted it in an OFF TOPIC forum...because well...its OFF TOPIC.

So...Update.
Tonight we tried to call the phone again. It rang...so I sent a text message explaining the fact the phone was now considered stolen property and LEOs are working on recovering it, GPS is tracking its location (total BS at this point) and if it is not returned to the Greene County Sherriff's Office or Springfield Police Department within 24 hours criminal charges will be filed.
Lo and behold, a clerk called from the gas station I lost it at...some kid turned it in and said he just found it in the parking lot. I just got back from getting it, still in good condition, all sensitive info is still on the phone. Passwords have not been attempted either on the phone according to history so we are good to go!

A happy ending? Never expected that from alost phone story. Glad it all ended up good, just inconvenient for a few days I'm sure.

Yeah, I didnt have my morning routine of opening the garage door super slow while listening to "Stranglehold" By Ted Nugent. I just had to open it and drive off, angry. It did make for some interesting "angry" burnouts on old tires that night though
