The "roadway" they use to transport the shuttle is something like 8-feet thick.

It's really impressive to see it in person.

There sure is a boatload of people wandering around on foot and in cars as they are moving it. :rolleyes:

If they don't change the launch date for STS-134 for 2/26/11 I'll be down there. My g/f works for NASA. :cool:

Now that is one hell of a lift. You should watch the History Channels Moder Marvels when they do their segment on doors. It takes something like 45 minutes to an hour just to open the doors. Hauling that thing takes something like 1 to 2 hours.
