Finally...

After driving MERCMAN's MM, I have to do it.

Really was impressed with the gain and doesn't break the bank.

Cool part is, I found a wrench here in town that is highly recommended by Drewstang and #4# and has over 10 years experience in doing the 8.8 rear end setup.

4:10's, here I come!

Question for you...were the underdrive pulleys worth it? Thanks.

Question for you...were the underdrive pulleys worth it? Thanks.

After the install of the UD's and taking a 'test' drive, I did notice a difference in it spooling up quicker.

They will lessen inherent drag on the engine and you will feel a little gain.

I got them used from a member on here, and if I paid full price for them, I would have been disappointed as I expected more from them.

Glad I have them though..

Yes.

My wrench has the 4:10's with less than 1,200 miles on them that will drop right in.

Near $350.00 for the whole sha-bang.

Damn good deal if you ask me.

And Brian is HIGHLY recommended by peeps I know.

True Ford racing gears will never sell for that much brand new.

Actually it was the fact that my limited slip was just about gone and tired of one wheel peel 90% of the time :burnout: . Doing the gears was just a bonus on top of replacing my Trak-Lok unit.

410's are now in and they are quiet as a church mouse.

Damn does it feel good!

:burnout:

It took Brian only 2 1/2 hours start to finish including the test drive once it was all buttoned back up.

Josh and Drew both recommended Brian to turn the wrenches, and I must say, he knows his ***** when it comes to the 8.8 rear ends.

If anyone close by Louisville needs gears put it, Brian should be your first choice.

It's been...well...getting onto a week now with the gears.
What about the gas? Other than:burn: most of the time; is the consumption much different?

You haven't been following the billions of "should I or shouldn't go with 4.10's" posts have you?

You'll lose about 1mpg with the 4.10's

If you worried about mpg's buy a Prius and save gas for the rest of us!

Agreed, I was pulling close to 350 miles to a tankful with 4.10s and a convertor with a tune thats off on my way to NC. You won't notice the gas comsumption.
