He's lucky he hit the berm. It looks like it launched him off center and the car turned in the air and he hit towards the back end on the bridge pillar. No way he hits that bridge pillar headon and walks away.

I suspect that he lost control about 1 second after he realized he was about to pass the police cruiser .... hit the brakes and swerved into the median and was unable to slow down once on the grass. The rest is on film.
