On the eaton conversion do we just use the one sensor where tapped & installed at the rear of the intake manafold ? If two are supposed to be used were is the other sensor to be located & how do I wire them ?

Either use the Cobra sensor that is already installed in the manifold or drill & tap the manifold so you can use the lightning sensor. It's referred to as IAT2, but it's really the only IAT sensor for the MM since the PCM only has one IAT sensor input.

Dont mean to dig up an old thread but I'm wondering whats the difference between using the Lightning sensor drilled/tapped into the lower intake manifold and the stock Cobra sensor thats already installed?
Im preparing for my eaton install and the blower doesnt have the stock cobra sensor installed at this time. Is there some advantage to using the Lightning sensor over the stock Cobra one? At this point I'm indifferent to installing either sensor unless one works better or is way more expensive.

I couldn't think of a operational advantage and figured Ford must of known something and that's why they put it there. I used the factory hole seems to work good. I also didn't have a tap so that influenced my decision. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

it reads the same air either way, i honestly do not remember the reason i did it this way.

Im thinking its easier to use the stock Cobra sensor, just bolt it on and forget. I just dont see it being worth the effort to drill, tap and seal the block with the Lightning one.
Unless the Cobra one is prohibitively expensive that is.

cobra has 4wires cant remember how it s hooked up, lightning has 2

Drilling and tapping also gives you more vacuum ports under boost for the gauge and the FRPS.

this might be the only reason i did it, that and i was following what was already done before me.

Yeah what??? I understad that if I tap for the Lightning sensor, I now have an open port for attaching a boost gauge but what about the FRPS? I dont recall seeing that anywhere in the Trilogy manual.
This is some good discussion! Im learning tons everyday.

the frps has to see a boost reference IIRC

I think he might have been referring to what we did on my Eaton. http://img.tapatalk.com/638e210c-5636-783e.jpg
We drilled and tapped the Cobra IAT hole and used for the boost gauge.

I saw that pic I while back and Im starting to lean towards the same thing. Beats trying to figure out what the other two wire pins on the Cobra IAT are for.
While we're on that subject, does anyone have a complete ECU wiring diagram for the 03/04 Cobra? It seems theres a few components on the cobra that aren't used on the 'Rauder Eaton swap. Boost dump solenoid (wtf is that?) and some other electronic thingy bolted to a bracket on the drivers side of the blower. Also, the FRPS requiring a boost reference has got me nervous.
What are you connecting to the other side of the tee thats just out of the picture?

I have a cobra MAP sensor replacing the Marauder MAP in the EGR sensor. But with the Trilogy, I don't have a port to install this one internally. It does require changing the MAP transfer function to use it. Advantage is being able to measure pressure above one atmosphere. If I had an Eaton swap, I would be using the factory MAP/IAT sensor in the factory Cobra location.
