M91/30 Mosin Nagant

Almost all the marks look to be Tula pre 1928. . . didn't think I'd get an old school example at Dunham's but I did. It was the only Hex receiver they had. Also the only one before the mid 1940s.

Receiver marks look to make it a 1926 Tula CCCP M91 or Dragoon
The bolt also has a pre 1928 Tula stamp
The stock also has a Tula stamp, date is 1929

I collected WWI bolt actions.
The first few shots I would hold the rifle on the other side of a pine tree in case it blew up.

For the money, it's hard to beat a mosin. You just aren't going to find a bolt action, clip fed rifle that fires a full-sized rifle cartridge at that price point. I own two, a 91/30 and M44 both of Izhevsk origin, and while neither is exceptionally accurate (a common misconception is that all mosins are capable of sub MOA accuracy when in reality only a few were fit for sniper duty), they are both lots of fun to shoot and accuracy can be improved with Com-blok 7N1 ammunition.

If you haven't already, you really need to try an M44 out with some heavy ball ammunition. The resulting fireball and report are astounding!

Very nice Mosin! They kick like a mule, don't they? My shoulder was sore for a couple of days last time I took it to the range. Mine's nothing special, though - just one I picked up for cheap at a show.
