Having seen the show boards that some of you guys/gals have and since we have been taking the Marauder out to the local cruise nights, we decided we wanted one of our own. We had no idea where to start. Fortunately we have very generous and talented friends, starting with LadyHawke (Chris) who worked her magic and put together the pictures, graphics and design. She is amazing and we are indebted to her for her time and her talent. We love how this turned out and can't thank her enough!

We needed some great photos for the board and posted a request on the forum. We got just what we were hoping for! Many, many thanks to Defyant (Charlie) for his awesome burnout, and to Blackened300a (Paul) who took a great photo. And a ton of thanks as well to ImpalaSlayer (Dave) for his fantastic burnout pic and for coordinating with Chris to ensure she got what she needed. You guys are so generous to let us use these! Thought you might like to see it.

Also the two cars don't look the same, ImpalaSlayers has gunmetal grey wheels and mach 1 chin spoiler.

Never claimed it was our car. That's why it says courtesy of.... We just wanted a couple pics of SB's doing burn-outs and Charlie via Paul and Dave stepped up.

Would be a great addition to the MV8 Car Show.

Don't forget, there's a Best Display trophy up for grabs (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).....;)

And there's nothing wrong with that. I may have come off a little strong, but usually people put pictures of their own car on their show board. There is a very good thread about them somewhere on here.

I should have added, "as long as you're happy, that is all that matters!" (cause I am the KING of being different)

What no kudos to "O's Fan Rich" for the use of the background color. ;) I believe that he holds a patent on that particular shade of purple. :P

Pure coincidence on the issue of purple;). Not sure if the board will be ready by MV8. Have to figure out how to get the file to Staples:confused: as we are not overly computer adept.

Copy it to a USB drive, aka thumb drive or burn it to a CD. Take said media to Staples.

You can e-mail the file to a Kinko's/FedEx (probably to the Staples too). Just go to the website and find the store. There is usually a "Contact Us" link to the store. Send 'em a note. I can get less than 6 hours turn-around from Kinko's/FedEx.

I have taken the file on a CD/DVD too. E-Mail saves a trip. Just tell 'em what size and what kinda foamboard or other material.

As a show board is needs more improvement. It's great for a Marauder club meet, but outside of that ... it's another story. If interested send me a E-mail and I will share some of my experiences with show boarding. :)

Well just got back from Staples and we had success. I managed to upload the pic in a similar fashion as to we load them on this site to Staples. I called them to make sure it arrived and whilst talking with the printer I decided it might behove me to go down and supervise the print. After two hours of fiddling with the size and other stuff we had success. Print, mount on foam-core and laminate, done. Since it took so long they even gave me a discount. Walked out the door for $21.38. I think they actually lost money on it as we went through 5 or 6 color print copies, two pieces of foam-core and two plus hours of futzing. I think it came out nice and we will bring it to MM8.:)

Chris & Gordan did a great board and display stand.

Here are some tips:

1) Figure out were you want to place the board
2) Determine the board size
3) Choose the font and background color
4.) Choose the design that brings attention to your car
5.) Insure your sign is durable and can withstand moderate winds
6.) Consider having more then one sign.
7.) Concentrate on the uniqueness of the car and brand.

These are just some of my ideas.

Hi Ms.Denmark and Mr.Man,

Ladyhawke did a good job on the sign for you! I do agree with Merc, though. It may require some more info on it. The link he gave you is an excellent start to get ideas. Here's the showboard that I designed and use for my car. Perhaps it'll help since it's Marauder specific. It's not very big, 17"x11", and I usually place it up on the passenger side near the heater case. The car itself pulls them in (it's usually the S/C that does:D), and the sign explains the rest of the story:

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p59/Sully008/Marauder/Board.jpg

Also, here's a picture of my brother's Mustang with the showboard I designed for his car. His is alot larger (24"x36"), and has alot more info on it, explaining why his car is the way it is. But people were instantly drawn to it and he talked to everyone that asked questions about his car. On more than one occasion someone's offered to buy the car from him. He likes the attention more than I do.

Hope this helps!
