Hey guys and girls. Check out this Marauder fo sale on Ebay. I think this one needs a little miracle to be on the streets again. Some pics are from the Chicago Auto Show last year. I sat in the very same car. If it's the same one. Enjoy.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP.dll?View&category=6783&item=2446969491

Trunk fire???? Looks like someone was either on a cell phone or smoking while gassin' up. :nono:

How many typos did YOU find in the post?

It's a "nasa" car......mmmm, I didn't know that:D

Hey! That's the picture I took at the Chicago Auto Show that I posted in our Photo Gallery.Logan the site should get a user fee for that?

:flamer:

He's selling a car that was ON FIRE, presumably keeping whatever insurance money he got instead of fixing the car.

LOOO-SER!

This guy just bought this Marauder in Michigan last week from insurance sale and is trying to flip it quickly. It was not his car until he bought it at the auction. The car caught fire in the Detroit area as this is where it was sold.

He wants a lot for it with all the damage I think.

Jinfla, any idea what it went for at auction?

I'm guessing you were watching it

Krispy Kritter is right. Here are some of the pics of this Post Toasty...

This first shot shows the fire damage to the left rear quarter..

He says "bring a tail light and drive home." Feh! Here's a shot of the back seat area.

This shot of the front seat shows it's pretty filthy, but is a 300A with traction control.

Look, I guess if you are so inclined and have the talent, this car may be the ticket. I've seen amazing things done with wrecked or otherwise totaled cars. But, this one has a "salvage" title, and that pretty much is the kiss of death on this car, imo. Sure, if you want something to fix up and mod for fun, great. But I think he's stretching things a bit to put up a picture of a MM from a car show, sing the praises of it, and then suggest with a few new parts, a bit of paint, you have a "good as new" car again. Sorry, there's got to be LOTS of damage to things that you don't see in the photos, and even then the car seems to have had some things cut away or sanded away to make it look better than it actually is.

This shot shows the undamaged side. Sad situation for one of the relatively rare blues, no?

Coming from someone who wants a MM badly, I'll pass on this one. I bet you the rest of the interior smells burnt. I've seen brakes do this kind of damage.

What happened- did his subwoofer explode?

My bet is that someone was smoking a cigarette while gassing up. I've seen far too many of the brain-dead doing that, and I tend to try to clear the area when someone is doing this.
Another argument for Darwinian evolutionary theory- in the good old days, people like that wouldn't have lived long enough to reproduce...

RCSignals, I did not see the actual auction just what the net bids were the day before.

Talk about one "hot" rod... Sorry... couldn't resist...

That is our show pick though... it's got the watermark on it. I'm sure there's some sort of legality issues here... Logan?

Around here, salvage means salvage, there's no coming back from the dead.

It doesn't look that bad though, none of the sheet metal buckled. May take a year or two to dry out, it's still drippin...You know how Firemen love to use their hoses. (okay, okay, it's a joke, okay?)

Anyone thinking "pro street?" Tubbed, caged, four buckets, clear plexi hood with a real blower sticking out, neon, yada yada yada...If you wanted to go jungle on it, you could have some fun.

Alas, it's already priced well beyond that opportunity, shame too. I'd give up to 9 large for it as it sits, but "buy it now for 17K" ROTFLMAO...

As stated salvage is the kiss of death. A car with a salvage title is almost worthless unless you intend to keep it forever. Sgt. Mac is correct the price is way too high. There is probably almost 10K damage. There is more damage than the eye can see. You could almost buy a new for for 27.5K.

I think he's in the insurance or repair bussiness. He also has a black 03 that ran into someone for $1k less. Check his other auctions.

Boy, if the "burn" rate for Marauders keeps going like this, in about 2 years or so, there should be less than 100 Marauders left.....

Why does everyione keep wrecking their Marauder?

In GA you can clean the title when repaired properley and have state inspect it and only way to tell is run a carfax or know paintwork if cheep enough $ could be made on it and no one would ever know i think in the 9's would be a good buy!;)

Still think the owner smokes? Car fires are hard to put out so am sure it's going to take a long long time to dry out! Then you have the Mold issue???

BTW, I found out where this one came from. He bought from a repairable dealer in Warren, Michigan. It was advertised there for $12,900. This is also the same dealer that had a black 300A with both rear doors and quarters damaged. I started a thread for that one.

Here's a wierd twist, the guy who is advertising the car on Ebay hasn't bought it yet. Sounds hinky. I ran the VIN and the warranty is CANCELLED.

burnt metal does not like paint...many body people will not spray burnt metal...it keeps coming back...usually as rust...could paint but would not want to keep it for long...

Pande's performance purchased this car and it really isn't that bad. Whoever had the car origina;;y put a stereo system in it and that had something to do with it. The gas cap is melted in the gas filler hole so it wasn't being filled. We are going to reconstruct the car. It was only cosmetic and it runs fine. It will now be our twisted and demented horsepower toy from now on.
