all this time i've been looking for 2004 cars because i thought sunroofs and heated seats were only available in that year.... just re-read the thread on 03 vs 04 and saw the error in my ways....

Heated seats became available in late 2003 (300B) models.

Moonroofs only available in '04.

If its an '03 and has a moon roof it is not considered factory installed like a 2004.

You may also want to consider that the '04 Marauders came with the stouter 4R75W transmission instead of the 4R70W in the '03.

There don't appear to be a lot of differences, but maybe the little changes make enough of a difference.

Living in Maryland heated seats are nice in the winter I used mine all the time.

I had the dealer install heated seats in my 300A. Two position switches were installed on the center console on either side of the drink holders. I like the switches on the center console vice located on the door from the factory. Great in winter option...

You could not order a 2003 Marauder with a factory moonroof. Was not on the option list.

Moonroofs were available only on 2004 Marauders. The VIN on a 2004 Marauder that was to get a moonroof says it's an "incomplete" car (or something to that effect). If the Marauder was to get a moonroof, after it was completely assembled it was sent the ASC (American Sunroof Company) to have the moonroof installed.

Moonroof = movable glass panel

Sunroof = movable metal panel

What I was agreeing to here was that is that if an 03 has a moonroof/sunroof whatever, it was installed aftermarket, or after it left the factory, usually by a dealer, as dgi states. That you couldnt ORDER it that way in 03. I know you that couldnt order one on on an 03, but you could on an 04. Re- read the thread and understand what i was saying, which is the same as you. I thought 04's were put on in the assy line? you are saying they sent 04's out?

Ford never installed sunroofs or moonroofs on their assembly line. All the work went to ASC. I believe that is also true for the other two of the Big three.

Yes you can make your seats heated.

Parts are cheap.... dealer labor expensive if they would even do it. The "understuff" is not there.

FBM is correct. No moonroofs were installed at the factory. Cars were sent out "incomplete" to the vendor stated ^^^^^ for moonroof installation.
