Anyone here have stage 2 or 3 cams installed on their Marauder? I'm looking for some Video/Sound clips of one to hear the differance from the shorter wheelbases Cobra over our platforms.

Is it purely for sound differences of the exhaust???

To be honest it is for me in this case. Depending on how the music from the tailpipes sound,it'll help determine wether or not to invest the extra $$ on cams or use it on something else (head & lower intake port matching, stroker kit, rear diff & axles, fuel system, new suspension etc...) and stay conservative with the original stock or Ford GT cams.

Best bang for the Buck,I haven't been too impressed with the power gains aftermarket cams give the 4v mod motors like they work for the pushrod setups but as for the sound dept that's another story.

I was running Ford GT Cams and wasnt very noticeable you could only make out the lope on cold idle. Of course I did have the resonators on them as well. Will be running FRPP FR500 highlift camshafts soon....

IMO cams on this application isnt worth the dollars per HP. If part of a build and you have a budget for it sure. Cams, worked heads, and intake and full exhaust can net you some nice gains but the 4V is $$$. For that amount SC of your choice will net you more HP.

Do you know how many of us could've bought two+ superchargers with all the $$$ thrown at these. We were told, we didn't listen, just had to learn for ourselves. Ahhh, human nature. ?'s Call The Zack, Sipe, Walsh hotline! Listen to them and you'll save money!

I know of a member here with aftermarket camshafts and had the gears break at idle. Twice.

Who TJA? That was a defective part IIRC.

IMHO - stock 96-98 Cobra cams advanced to 110 intake centerline and get the exhaust in at 114 or so and that would make a world of difference. TFS has new adjustable crank gears that would help with that.

Yes on the which member. Unsure on the defective part story.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is listen when what you are hearing "isn't" what you want to hear....lol

Go cams/heads if you got the heads off or doing a buildup...otherwise spend your money elsewhere.

Do a search on this site for FRPP FR500 High lift Cams, Comp Cams, GT40 or Ford GT Super Car Cams.

Won't make any "Lopey" sound difference though. I have em. ;)

True Dat!

Charlie won't give up the grind on the cams.

They are a 'one-off'.

He'll prolly kick my ass for this, and not fair to his Beast nor him as this vid. was the first fire when he got things back together.

Isn't anywhere near where it is now, and a lot of work and sweat has gone into this build.

This should give an idea as to what is going on with it.

Good times!

BTW,...

Open headers and the short period of time it ran, the fumes in his garage were so bad, it made our eyes water.

Oh, Charlie's neighbors were like WTF!??

That was done on purpose as during that time, this was "Top Secret" per Mongoose's wishes.

Most of it still is now that I think about it.
