I thought that ATT was $30 for unlimited. Is that data plan no longer offered?

Here's the deal, if you have unlimited data now, enjoy it while you can. If you change packages you will no longer be offered Unlimited data. As of right now, I think verizon is the only one still offering unlimited, but that is scheduled to change next year (presumeably when they start carrying the Iphone)
Cell companies have been getting hit (read not making as much money as they think they should) and underestimated people using their phones over their computers, so they say an opportunity to make more money. ATT was the first to jump, then most of the other companies followed suit. You can expect when your contract runs out that you may no longer be offer the unlimited package (The same thing happened with texting, you used to be able to get an unlimited package, now most companies cap it at 5000 texts before they start charging.)

Verizon has done a soft cap for years... It's unlimited but if you keep using more then they feel you should they have the right to reduce your speed capability... Thus reducing how much u can download & wan to download due to a speed constraint... They can always get you going & coming...
